I have no problem with fans taking information from either or both analysis. The more information the better. I just see a definitive difference in the objectivity of those breakdowns. If GNFP is going to be hypercritical then at least explain the philosophy. Im guessing he cant at times.

I also happen to think a fan can be pretty ignorant to Xs and Os and still be valid in constructively arguing something is wrong. You don't have to be spurrier or stoops to see deficiencies in certain aspects. The warts from prior coaches were called out pretty early and time proved then to be true. Muschamps offense, mac's strength and conditions and depth on lines, Mullens defense and recruiting, etc. I'm not a pumper. I'm not a fan of going conservative to start the 3rd or running into 9 man fronts. I will give them the benefit of doubt for the time being though because other issues have been fixed so time will tell.

I believe based on past likes/agrees we are very much on the same page when it comes to preference and thoughts on performance thus far. I'm admittedly more pessimistic on the issues being fixed though, which is probably why I like James more than others cause it aligns with what I see/feel.

Trust me. I want to do the same but I have learned to check my reflexive or emotional responses in general. I think times have changed and sports media basically use forums to generate stories so why feed them negativity?

I'll say this. Meyer sacrificed what would be a prolific year in 05 to get his system installed. He did modify it mid-season with a fullback and it helped us get enough to beat Georgia that year but 06 was choppy as well. I don't believe we will ever be scoring at 07 08 levels but if he can get some better line play and more production from the tight end spot then we might be a pretty efficient and hard to stop offense in time. I hated the 2nd half philosophy in the Tennessee game but we also saw him go for it on 4th down several times last season so who knows what his full offense will look like eventually.

I do think a full time OC will help with playcalling and time management. I hope he goes that route eventually but it ain't happening this year so let's just let the season play out.

Hiring an OC and putting in a new offense is something that would be done in the off season, not mid season. I wait all spring and summer to watch gator football, and i'm going to try my best to enjoy it. IMO, focusing on all the negative stuff just takes away enjoyment. Plenty of time to focus on the program after the season. I find this philosophy promotes well being and happiness more than going bat shit over perceived flaws in the progam.

You are the only one making any sense here. It’s one thing to look at it objectively and say how it can work and why it didn’t work, it’s another to say it’s the wrong playcall without knowing what the players are capable of.

I would take what James says with a grain of salt. Listen to Shane Matthews if you want someone with expertise and no intimate insider knowledge.

Only ZOOK could tell us if it was “correctable “ or not.

I hope James makes his hair extra poofy for the YouTube vids this week. We can pay him less mind that way.

He called this a must-win game in the pre-season show. Idk if the UTk win changed his mind on that but he's beating the same drum he beat for Grantham.
