So we are basically becoming a farm team for the top five or six programs in the country. Same programs year after year. Great way for fans to lose interest in the sport. Why bother watching when it’s just going to be the same old same old.
He was always jawing and defending his play with fans and analysts on Twitter. Not saying that had something to do with him transferring but it was clear to me that he did not like being called out or questioned.
Bad sign of what? There were a lot of good defenses in college football that he was not a part of. The defense he was a part of wasn’t good. All it means is he likely won’t be back. It doesn’t mean we will be better or worse next year.
Although I agree with you, this was what Billy was trying to build. Unfortunately, this didn’t translate to results on the field quickly enough and he had to make some staff changes based on the pressure. Along with that, comes the attrition. Add the crazy portal and it’s all hell’s broke loose.
When you can't keep your only All-SEC defensive player from a bad defense, it doesn't look good to me. It's one thing when back-ups and non-contributors bail, but when your best players opt out ......
More like European Soccer. The NFL actually has salary caps, Free Agent periods and, you know, RULES!
Hopefully sooner rather than later. Though I think the 12-team playoff may save it. At the least, it will pull in enough jock sniffers to keep it in the black.
Are you honestly defending 1-and-Done? Ruined college hoops and is literally the most cynical rule on Earth. Exists for NO OTHER REASON than to give NBA teams a smaller more qualified sample size to draft from. Call it what it is, the Kwame Brown rule.
Less a reflection on us and more about the new "markets" that have opened up to these guys. Get ready for waves of this every year. Just like the EPL. The West Hams of the world will never be able to keep the City's and Liverpools from snatching up their best young talent because they don't have the budgets and name recognition to keep them.
January transfer window opens in Europe in a few weeks. Check it out (and all the gossip and misinformation), because that's where this is headed. It's becoming European Football and the SEC is the PL.
I actually thought he was going to the NFL. If he's going to play in college it kills me that its not at UF.
