If we had Mertz, I don't think that's true.
After all, Travis played vs Boston College and they barely won.
He played vs. Miami and they barely won. (I think got an assist as well from the refs?)

Now- if Travis played and Mertz didn't- I agree. It would have been a blowout.
But then I would ask- why does FSU get back their injured QB and we don't??

Just checked the box score again. We were outscored by South Carolina in the 4th quarter and second half of the game. Glad it looked better in person. Hope UF turns around 2nd half misfortunes next year. QB with 2 years starting in system is exciting

 

My mistake. Meant to say we were outscored in the 4th quarter/2nd half by South Carolina in that game. Sorry

 

Maybe you should check yet again. They scored 13 in the 4th quarter (7 of that was literally a 3 yard play to open the quarter), and we scored 14.

Also, we scored 17 second half points to their 16.

Do better.

 

I didn't check the box score- so my bad on that...
BUT I know we scored 14 unanswered points to close the game...(not counting the safety we took in garbage time.)

It felt like a lost cause, but we pulled it out. It was so wonderful to quiet the "sandstorm." (Though the fans were fine to me.)
Sad it was our last win of the year... still can't believe that.

players will give many different reasons for leaving- coaching, development, playing time, culture, SC, etc. they always leave out the actual reason…

players at every level never say it is about the money.

 

Or my coach is a meanie, or I just want to be on the winning team, or there’s too much competition, or lots of free hookers and cocaine.

 

Record wise, yes. On the field, not so much. Trade our schedule with theirs and they have 3-5 losses.

I know he graded out well, but I never thought he was even close to being a dominant performer at anytime while he was a Gator. SEC must've been weak at his position for him to be 1st team all conference.

Fans want threes and dunks every play and they made the rules to have almost a position less game. It kinda sucks now. I like having the big men dominate the paint and the littler guys having to deal with it.

unfortunately you are incorrect and need to check the box score again. I went and looked at it online again . USC had 15 4th quarter points to our 14 and we had 17 second half points to their 18. Again, lost the 4th quarter even in that exciting win. Do better? Fairly rude statement for someone that fails to even check the box score

 

2023 Team Statistics

12th out of 13 SEC teams in total defense last year. With TX and Oklahoma entering, we would be 14th out of 15 teams. Obviously this is what Billy is trying to fix. Can’t get much worse so good to change coaches and personnel. Hopefully this will make a difference in the close games next year. You can sort link for other views as well
