Agree, he was the locked in starter for 2024. Where is he going? The school that ponies up the most money? Or does he want to win a championship and head to Bama or UGA?
He's gonna go somewhere and get buried behind their talent. Being our best Dline man does not necessarily equate to such other places.
NIL and the portal are killing college football. These kids are being their own agents and trying to bet on themselves in the portal for money. I Imagine with all this we may see more college coaches head to the NFL. Imagine trying to sustain a team amid all this? And this NiL/portal madness is really just getting started. Next year, year after where does it stop?
It’s mercenary football. One and done now if you’re halfway decent. How long until fans start walking away
Until him, Douglas & McClellan were the two biggest losses. He was AP all-SEC and losing him is a BAD sign, IMO.
Is high school football the last redoubt or do we have to go down to Pee-Wee League to experience innocence and integrity ?
They haven't walked away from basketball with the one and done. The majority of the team is in tack. So a few names change, it was going to happen anyway. Players are around 3 or 4 years and move on and a new crop of recruits come in every year. With the portal it is just more visible.
