Surprising that an economist could be so ignorant about his own profession. A smarter economist would know that finance has the last word. As in, Russia is running out of money to finance this war. Once Putin runs out of cash and he starts printing more, inflation will go through the roof and the uprisings will begin. Russia was smart to bail out of their Afghanistan adventure before they ran out of cash, because it made the landing a bit softer. This landing will be a hard one, like 1917 hard.

Some accurate numbers of how many Leopard tanks have been destroyed in Ukraine. Close to half? I don't think so. More like 5%. Another 12% is in the process of being repaired. One more was damaged and abandoned. There have been 60 Leopard tanks donated to Ukraine. A total of 49 are apparently still in working order. There have been promises of another 33 to be donated. Looks like the German tanks have been doing reasonably well in Ukraine. No reports yet of British Challenger tank casualties that I've seen. Russian tanks, OTOH, have been destroyed by the thousands. Some outlets put it in excess of 2,000, while Ukraine claims it may be as high as 4,000. So, to put it in terms of a scoreboard, Ukraine is winning the tank battle approximately 3000-16. (Ukraine has had 550 tanks destroyed, but it has captured 545 Russian tanks.) Once the Leopards are repaired and put back in service, the score will be 3000-9.
