On this Memorial Day - can a soldier return home from war ? For combat veterans, the process of resuming normal life has meant a series of abstract labels and diagnoses. It began with post-traumatic stress disorder. Then came anxiety disorders. "Moral injury," discussed among mental health professionals if not operationalized for diagnosis, appeared somewhere along the way, but there have been many others. Daniel Swift, a Navy SEAL who died fighting in Ukraine earlier this year, had been diagnosed with something called "adjustment disorder." Evidently, it's a term encompassing feelings of hopelessness and anxiety experienced after a complex, stressful life event. For Swift, that event was coming home from war and attempting re-entry into civilian life. Can A Soldier Come Home From War? | ZeroHedge
Erdogan defeats US to enter his third decade as Turkey President. US slowly losing the War for the World.
Ukrainian troops are looking forward to fighting Russian regulars instead of Wagner troops. The Russian army regulars are viewed as inexperienced and predictable compared to the Wagner troops. Looks like Ukraine will be taking back Bahkmut in the next month or two. Ukrainian soldiers in Bakhmut say fighting regular Russian troops will be 'not as hard' as fighting Wagner troops because they're inexperienced
Putin is now "in a panic" about the upcoming counter-offensive, according to the Brits. If the Russians cannot defend against this counter-offensive, Putin is as good as dead. Putin is terrified of Ukraine’s counteroffensive
Russian media is calling for citizens to volunteer an unpaid sixth day of work every week to help support the war. That should be popular. One dimwit even suggested that Russians spend a couple of hours working in a munitions factory after finishing their day job. Because that is what a factory that handles explosive chemicals needs--untrained and inexperienced people (who are exhausted) handling the explosives. What could go wrong? "The lights went out. Do you have a match?" Russian state media calling for unpaid 6th day of work to fund Ukraine invasion, Western intel says
These are the kinds of things you ask of your people when their national existence is threatened. It isn’t the sort of thing you ask for when you’re just trying to impose your authority on a former vassal.
He can’t. First, he’s staked his reputation on winning. But more practically, the only terms Ukraine will accept are a return to previous borders, which is the same thing as a loss, if he fights he at least has a shot of holding on to something. He’s stuck.
That's a ridiculous article. You should read the comment section to see how "helpful" it is. It provides no evidence that Nazism is not an issue in the Ukrainian military. Here we do have evidence of Russian Nazis willing to fight for Ukraine but not Russia, wonder why that is? Could it be because one military welcomes Nazis and another doesn't? The article says neo-Nazis are attracted to conflicts, true, but why wouldn't they find conflict from the Russian side but instead hop over the border to fight for Ukraine? You can't be so naive as to be convinced by that poor excuse of a Nazi whitewashing article, can you?
Putin has been trying to get a negotiated peace, by going through various intermediaries like China. Surrender for Putin would be suicide. He would be dead before the ink was dry on the surrender document. Putin has to have some land gain to claim a victory over Ukraine so he can survive this war. Crippling the economy, and killing 50,000+ Russians and wounding 150,000+ Russians with nothing to show for it would make Russians very angry. One of his underlings would have him killed.
Or could it be because one country tightly controls all press and information that goes out about that country? There are very few photos of Russian troops that are released by Russia--gee, wonder why that is? When you tell as many lies as Russia does, you have to do everything you can to control the flow of truth to avoid the embarrassment of the lies being exposed. And photos can accidentally show a lot of truth, even if they are reviewed by censors first. Just like Putin's claim that Ukraine was never a country, based on a Napoleon-era French map--the photo revealed the word "Vkraine" on the map, indicating that Putin is a foolish liar. One of the people in this discussion certainly is naive, but I'm afraid it isn't me. Why don't you get back to your Russian propaganda?
Thanks for the Lolz, comrade. It seems like you recently found this thread and we get your enthusiasm but there are already two other comrades on the job.
Good article on the mess that will exist even if Ukraine does prevail. Russia-Ukraine War: Why it won’t be over even if Ukraine wins
at times of war the enemy of my enemy is my friend when DT pulled US out of Syria, do you think the kurds liked Isis or they liked them more than Assad? If the neighboring country was raping your women and children and slaughtering your men would you be selective about who you were willing to accept help from as long as they didn't rape your women and children and slaughter your men?
Russia is screwed for decades to come, win or lose. Between brain drain, capital flight, sanctions, energy shift away from oil and gas, loss of life of so many men, and general despair among the population, they have a long road back even if they quit fighting today and restored original Ukranian boundaries
