Moving scene at the Chelsea Liverpool game, huge roar and support for Ukraine. Tons of Ukrainian flags, and the Russian owner (Chelsea) isn't allowed to be there and will probably lose the team.

That's a good point, but it is interesting how universally this seems disliked by the people that are unlikely to be arrested or killed by the government there. Major athletes (with the exception of Ovechkin to some extent) and children of the oligarchs have been particularly outspoken. But, in principle, I always agree with that warning.

What was said was for him & his family to evacuate. Nothing was said about surrendering the city.

Again I'm not a Biden person but you're being ridiculous. I need a vacation from some of you.

And dictators are always safe and “loved by their people.” Until they aren’t.

I'll give Ovechkin somewhat of a pass in the sense that his entire family is still in Russia. I know he's been a Putin supporter, but speaking out probably isn't a safe move for his family.

Is everyone else as surprised as I am how this has united the rest of the world against Russia? Not only from world governments but the entire population. I even saw a tweet a couple of days ago where the Pope broke diplomatic protocol and went directly to the Russian ambassador to the Vatican.

Which is just stupid, he had no say in what is happening. Just as stupid that a former NHL player is calling for all Russian players to be suspended for being Russian.

I'm hoping the people around him see this, and assassinate him.

Putin will use talks to resupply at the least. Any concessions he gets for any withdrawal would be seen as a win towards future actions. The more regional players that get involved probably strengthens his negotiating stance. Much higher math than than my feeble old brain can comprehend, no linear string theories, but asymmetrical.
Leaving to go fly fishing tomorrow, check map for area, well at least I will be in a happy place ;)

I'm pretty sure the Chelsea owner stepped aside voluntarily.
