You're right it is not a rosy picture for the people of Ukraine nor is it a rosy picture of how this war is proceeding the later is what is being portrayed by west.
Ukies are angry with Bakhmut citizens. They say Bakhmut citizens are providing Russians with their positions.
It's being 1000 times more accurately portrayed by the west than it is in Mother Russia. Russian TV is startling to watch.
You have my answer about what we should have done and now it is far too late to do anything about it. Same goes for Afghanistan and Iraq. I also stated it was a error on Putin's part not to take Kyiv in the first place hoping a diplomatic solution could be reached. This is why we are at this stage in the war. That said the would have could have should have at this point is irrelevant as it is. Putin and the west are now fighting a war of attrition when this could have been solved a long time ago.
If only Putin would have stayed on his side of the border, so much death, destruction, and misery caused by one man's ego
it was a major error on Putin's part to ever start the war. Don't start the war and there was nothing to be solved. They tried to take Kiev and failed miserably.
I really do believe that Putin was naive enough to negotiate. He did not send anywhere near the number of troops required to take a city of four-million. Recall that, during the Seige of Mosul, in 2017, 108,000 coalition forces and withering aerial bombardment by the US took NINE MONTHS and four days to pacify between 5,000 and 12,000 IS rebels. And 40,000 civilians died in the process.
his only complaint was that his guy lost the election and the new leader wouldn't bend the knee and kiss the ring. NATO, specifically Germany, still heavily influenced by Moscow and cheap russian gas, was not going to admit Ukraine. that is hogwash and you know it but keep parroting that russian propaganda
Mariupol, 80 km from the lines, being hit with explosions and weapons depots and fuel supplies being destroyed. Somebody has new toys?? Mariupol Strikes Raise Questions About Possible New Ukrainian Long-Range Weapons (msn.com) Explosions were heard in the Kalmius district," the Mariupol City Council Telegram channel reported Wednesday night local time. "Meanwhile, two explosions are reported at 10:51 p.m. and 10:53 p.m. in the area of the plant named after Ilyich. We hope that our Defenders will continue to hit the positions of the Russian occupiers." These latest attacks follow about a dozen strikes on Mariupol Tuesday night into Wednesday morning, according to Ukrainian Telegram channels “So far, 11 explosions are known in the Russian-occupied city,” the Mariupol City Council Telegram reported Wednesday morning. “The first explosion occurred at [10:33 p.m. local time]. “There is preliminary information about two hits - in the AS-2 area (Central district) and Stan-3000 (Kalmius district). Probably in places where enemy forces are concentrated.” ............................. The local Telegram channels do not say what was used on either Tuesday or Wednesday to hit those targets, which are about 80 kilometers (nearly 50 miles) away from the nearest Ukrainian forces. That is just outside of the precision-guided munitions - that can hit targets out to around 43 miles (70 kilometers) - fired by M142 High Mobility Artillery Rocket Systems, or HIMARS and M270 Multiple Launch Rocket Systems (MLRS) provided to Ukraine. While it is possible Ukrainian forces could have pushed a HIMARS or M270 closer to Mariupol for the strikes, the distance from the front lines has led to speculation that Ukrainian troops used a new, longer-range munition.
Agree. When Putin launched his invasion be probably assumed that the end result would be similar to what happened after the Soviet Union sent troops into Budapest in 1956 and Prague in 1968. He was wrong. On this Day, in 1956: the Red Army attacked Budapest and crushed the Hungarian Revolution Invasion: The Crushing Of The Prague Spring
Yep, he was going to roll into Kyiv, decapitate the gov't there, install a hand picked stooge and push the frontier of his empire to the Polish and Romanian border (and given time, he would not have stopped there).
Based on Putin's history and his own statements it doesn't take a genius to infer what his motives were when he invaded Ukraine. Putin: Soviet collapse a 'genuine tragedy' Vlad's own words on why Ukraine is really a part of Russia Article by Vladimir Putin ”On the Historical Unity of Russians and Ukrainians“
If only people would have listened to Putin in the very beginning he may have well stayed out of Ukraine.
Yeah, should have turned Patton loose and nuked every god damned Russian city over 10,000 in 45 and 46. Commie problem solved.
