According to the article, hundreds of people in the U.S. military and the federal government, and half of Europe's leadership, was well aware of this plot. Yet all of the people who came forward to tell what they knew (off the record) came to a known fiction writer who lacks credibility? And no other reporter got even a whiff of this story? That just doesn't smell right to me. It sounds like one of D-dad's propaganda writers.

On the one hand Russia is struggling against Ukraine and "has lost 50% of the territory they held" and "advancing at snail's pace" and "lost in Kherson, lost in Kharkiv, lost outside Kyiv and is searching for victories in the Donbas". And yet, if they aren't stopped in Ukraine they are going to attack a NATO country and roll through that and into other NATO countries.

You can’t make this thread up.

An uplifting article on a group of foreign volunteer soldiers fighting the good fight against the Russian invaders. The surprise? It's a group of volunteer soldiers from Russia. Apparently not everyone in Russia supports Putin-Hitler's little adventure.

They Are Russians Fighting Against Their Homeland. Here's Why.

Hitler with nukes. British writer looks at the Ukraine War and the history of appeasement vs. active opposition.

Putin might be today’s Hitler, but history offers little guide as to what happens next

Kosovo believes that Russia and the Wagner mercenaries are preparing to help Serbia with a little invasion. Maybe an attempt to distract the West from defeating Putin in Ukraine.

This is strange news: pregnant Russian women are emigrating to Argentina in large numbers. They want their children to have Argentinian citizenship and a passport so they will be able to leave Russia at a moments notice (like when a draft notice comes up) and not have to stop to get a visa from another country. (Most of Russia's European neighbors started requiring Russians to have a visa before entering their country, after Russia invaded Ukraine.) These women are thinking 20 years ahead for the safety of their children, because they don't trust Russia's leadership or the direction that Russia is going.

Some women are paying as much as $35k to get forged documents allowing them to stay in Argentina.

Pregnant Russian women flying to Argentina for citizenship, officials say

Ill advised if they do. There are NATO troops in Kosovo. Not enough to stop a Serbian invasion but more than enough that some would get hurt and die and bring the whole alliance on top of Serbia … again. While I’m sure that’s what Russia wants, it sure as hell is not what Serbia wants.

Russian troops are increasingly being afflicted with frostbite. Their winter clothing is inadequate. The winter this year in Ukraine has been comparatively mild, which has helped European allies get through it without relying on Russian oil & gas, and has minimized the effect of the weather on Russian troops, but Russians are still suffering from frostbite. If the winter turns cold in the next few weeks, the frostbite cases could skyrocket. Western countries have been supplying Ukraine with cold weather gear, while Russia forces relatives of the troops to send whatever gear they can afford.

Russian troops increasingly hospitalized with frostbite, Ukraine’s General Staff says

Back in March (March ?) it was being reported that half of Russian troops were frostbitten. Now it looks like the remaining half are frostbitten.

Meanwhile, with the entire Russian army disabled by frostbite, NATO is effectively encircled in Bakhmut.

But ... but ... but muh unprovoked aggression!

The Buildup To War In Ukraine - February 13 2022
In early 2022 Ukraine had finished the preparations for an overwhelming attack on the renegade People Republics of Donetsk and Luhansk (DPR and LNR).

Half of the Ukrainian army, some 120,000 men recruited and trained during the last 7 years, were stationed near the ceasefire line and ready to go. On the opposing side only some 40,000 men were under arms. They would have little chance to withstand an onslaught.

Russia could not let a Ukrainian attack happen. If Ukraine could regain the renegade provinces it would have been able to join NATO. Russian public opinion was decisively on the side of the Russian speaking DNR and LPR. It would surely demand an intervention. Since the 2014 coup in Kiev some four million Ukrainians had already moved to Russia. There are lots of family ties between the two countries. In sight of this Russia had put some of its own forces on alert and had moved weapons and munition to assembling points near the Ukrainian border.

The U.S. had for months warned of an upcoming Russian attack on Ukraine. It could do that because it knew the Ukraine would attempt to regain the republics by force. It knew that Russia would have to respond.

The KSF has some teeth to it, yes. They are much better manned and armed than the NATO forces still present. Serbia, on its best day with its best plan, would not be able to roll over Kosovo. But the real deterrent is killing or injuring any of those NATO forces. The U.S. contributes a small brigade-sized task force. If the Serbs kill or injure just one American in the conduct of an attack on Kosovo, then the President has full war powers under the WPR to retaliate at his discretion without so much as a GFYS to Congress or NATO. I don’t see the juice as being worth the squeeze.

Hey UFT - Reports from the front the last two days suggests Russia is bleeding significantly with the new force structure.....1,000 + casulties A DAY.

Of course these are Ukranian sources.

Not a particularily good start to the mighty Czarist offensive if true.

And despite reports to the contrary Bahkmut still holds despite recent Russian gains. The skis are paying a HEAVY Price there.

How My Work For Trump and Giuliani Sought to Make Ukraine Defenseless

“I was used by Trump and his personal lawyer Rudy Giuliani in ways that helped pave the way for Putin to invade Ukraine, my native land. If Trump and Giuliani’s plans had worked, the Ukrainians might not have had the necessary weapons, medical equipment, and other supplies they needed to fight back.”

I hope it’s true. Of course, you have to wait a few days to get a true sense of the picture. For instance, the first two days reports out of Omaha Beach had Eisenhower very close to conducting an amphibious withdrawal under fire and reinforcing Utah Beach. More relevant, let’s not forget that when Russia’s unprovoked invasion began the initial reports indicated they were winning everywhere. Air assaults had taken the major airports. An amphibious assault was underway at Odessa. Two unstoppable armored spearheads were going snap like jaws around Kyiv. Then after the dust settled, a very different picture emerged. That could certainly work in reverse, too.
