Didn’t need to. UK media is probably the worst in the world aside from Ukrainian sources. Well, actually they are the same.

yeah they’ve said repeatedly the losses are severe. You just dont like it because they don’t report your mythical 10-1 Russian kill to death ratio

I’d be surprised if it’s not closer to 20:1. Zaluzhny’s recent interview with The Economist certainly sounds like he’s laying the ground for Ukraine’s capitulation.

Russians are destroying US weapons faster than the US can supply them.

I have been thinking about this, and I truly hope this Patriot decision is one that has been duly considered with the advice of our generals, specifically in the air defense branch. Bear in mind, I’m aviation, not AD, but I’m relatively certain this is not a simple matter of teaching the Ukrainians how to use the equipment and letting them set it up in Kyiv and other population centers. They can’t be hidden, at least not very well, and certainly not after they have fired one. They have to be protected in depth by other AD systems. The only way I see this working is if we start by establishing a NATO SAM umbrella on the eastern Polish and Romanian borders (something that should have been done back in March), then deliberately establishing the systems in a west-to-east manner so that each is under the protection of a mutually supporting system. I fear that if they just start going operational in Kyiv, then they will get taken out in a spectacular manner, giving the Russian a free informational victory.

I’m hoping this is the first step in nato being more involved in creating an air defense shield over at least western Ukraine

You and I are correct to hope. The Administration needs to start doing more than hoping. The Jake Sullivan school of strategy by hope is going to blow up in our face at some point. We have been very fortunate until now that Russia has been as incompetent as it has been and Ukraine has been as motivated and resilient as it has been. None of the pre-war intelligence suggested either of those factors were realistic. We really need to apply pressure on Russia (and reduce pressure on Ukraine, which is almost the same thing) while we can.

I don’t doubt that the massive infusion of weapons from 40+ nations, has served to prolong the war.

Sadly, at the cost of tens and possibly hundreds of thousand Ukrainian troops and reducing their country to a wasteland.

Without Wikipedia, all could be lost!

Apparently, Russian troops have been using Wikipedia to figure out how to use their weapons. They also have been relying on used 1960's-era maps to find their way around Ukraine.

Russian troops have turned to Wikipedia to find instructions on handling weapons and used 1960s-era maps in the country's invasion of Ukraine: NYT

Yes, it’s committing genocide with expensive precision missiles. Amazing that you believe half the bilge you post.

Russians fire missiles on energy grid. Standard US practice. Ukrainian missiles miss, fall on residential buildings and Ukraine blames it on Russian missiles. It’s like the Iraq baby formula factory thing. When you’re operating from a position of weakness, lies are all you have. And it’s not like most Ukrainians are even decent people.
