A bridge is a military target once you start moving large amounts of military supplies and personnel over it. One of the hazards of living in a war zone. I don't know why that's so hard for you to understand, comrade. Russia has been attacking apartment buildings, schools and hospitals--those are obviously not military targets. Try to come to grips with Russia's war crimes before you start accusing others of committing them.

It's understood that when you invade a city with an army, these structures will be used by enemy troops as shelters of opportunity and will therefore be valid targets at times. But when you are sending in missiles from hundreds of miles away, they are not valid military targets. It's an attempt to kill civilians. Ukraine is in the process of invading Kherson right now, and they are attacking targets in the city. The so-called mayor of Kherson is asking for Russian help to evacuate civilians. I don't think Putin believes he could fracture NATO by invading the Baltic states. NATO has already expressed explicitly what the response would be. It would be full, unequivocal, boots on ground support until the end. There's a huge difference in that response and what NATO signaled on Ukraine, which of course drives Putin's calculus. I don't think Putin is stupid enough to think he can pull the Baltics away from NATO, which is one reason he's so fanatical about Ukraine. He knows once Ukraine becomes a NATO state, it's game set match. No chance Putin will go after the Baltics. He may as well try to take Poland. It would be the same outcome. Putin is many things, but he's not stupid. He's already 70 years old, which limits his time for any of this to come to fruition, which just makes the task all that more insurmountable.
