The other poster had suggested that NATO would get involved, which I took to mean engaging the Russian forces in Ukraine. If that were to happen, I think Putin would feel he has to take the Baltics or at least use as an excuse to take them.
And performed their duty. The world should remember their names beside Crockett and Bowie and Leonidas.
I was really just clarifying as it seemed the tweet I posted that inspired the discussion was ambiguous in that regard.
Managed to freeze the page's script and was able to get this: "Each time, the Chinese officials, including the foreign minister and the ambassador to the United States, rebuffed the Americans, saying they did not think an invasion was in the works. After one diplomatic exchange in December, U.S. officials got intelligence showing Beijing had shared the information with Moscow, telling the Russians that the United States was trying to sow discord — and that China would not try to impede Russian plans and actions, the officials said. The previously unreported talks between American and Chinese officials show how the Biden administration tried to use intelligence findings and diplomacy to persuade a superpower it views as a growing adversary to stop the invasion of Ukraine, and how that nation, led by President Xi Jinping, persistently sided with Russia even as the evidence of Moscow’s plans for a military offensive grew over the winter. This account is based on interviews with senior administration officials with knowledge of the conversations who spoke on the condition of anonymity because of the sensitive nature of the diplomacy. The Chinese Embassy did not return requests for comment." So I guess no words whatsoever were exchanged. At all. They just showed photos and...left. Continue to believe that.
It wasn't the F word, it was the use of GD in the tweet that got it deleted if I am remembering the tweet correctly.
Dad doesn't want to see stuff about Russians/Ukrainians resisting. He's rooting for Putin because it makes Biden look bad.
My goodness! Ukraine has long feared Russia's intentions, and they were right. Are you seriously suggesting they shouldn't have armed themselves and hoped for the best? Why do we arm ourselves these oceans away from invasion?
I actually don’t think that. From his posts, I think Dad wants Putin to lose. And he wants Biden to look bad too. Basically, he’s acting like he is watching a football game where he wants both teams to lose somehow.
If you are going to pop in now and then to fangirl for Putin, just go ahead and put that shirtless horseback pic of him as your avatar.
Here's the latest patriotic American running for office so he can, in a bipartisan fashion, help heal the country. What's astonishing is there are people who agree with this hack and might get him elected. J.D. Vance Suddenly Decides He Does Give a Sh*t About Ukraine "Vance issued a lengthy statement Thursday decrying policy failures that have endured “for decades,” while praising former President Donald Trump. “Trump deserves an incredible amount of credit for the strength and diplomatic engagement that kept Putin in check—and Biden an equal amount of blame for his lack of leadership,” he said. (Vance notably omitted the gushing applause Trump heaped on Putin hours after the invasion.)"
The tweet had two uncensored f words in it in retrospect, so my assumption was that’s why it got nuked. No worries, thought it was cool and didn’t know whether there was a “republishing damn brave dudes” exception to the no f words rule.
Look where Germany and Japan lead us. Mankind is overdue another conflagration, this time Russia and China with far worse weapons. The planet will be back to the middle ages if they are used.
Per CNN live updates, Poland & the Czech Republic have banned Russian airlines from using their airspace. I believe so has the UK. Separately Delta Airlines is severing connections with a Russian airline (need to find the name) and says it will help current ticketed passengers with alternate arrangements.
