Press Report: Russian men drafted to war by President Vladimir Putin's recent mobilization announcement are using a Ukrainian hotline to ask how they can give themselves up, according to Ukraine's Ministry of Defense. Andrii Yusov, spokesperson for the department, said during a televised briefing on Monday that there had been a strong response to the "I Want to Live" hotline, according to Ukrainian newspaper Ukrainska Pravda. The hotline was announced by Ukraine's Ministry of Defense on September 19, two days before Russian President Vladimir Putin announced the mobilization of reservists to the battlefield. Yusov said the hotline has received "a lot of calls" from recently drafted Russians, and even some who haven't yet been mobilized, per the newspaper. Yusov added, per the paper: "They're calling and asking 'What should I do if I get called up? What do I have to do, what's the right way to surrender?'" Yusov's comments have not been independently verified.

It would be helpful if folks would just quit interacting with the obvious trolls. It may be fun for them, but it makes this thread much less useful than it was at the start. Perhaps an "Official News" thread w/ mods who will wack the trolls would be a good second option.
Ok so I read your guy and his evidence supporting his view. I’ve also scoured the first couple pages of the internet for more information on these neo Nazis he discusses. At best, what I can figure is there were some neo Nazi elements that participated (with other several groups who were not neo Nazis) in the ousting of the former Ukrainian pro Russian regime in 2013-2014 and its a problem ukraine has been dealing with based on a scattering of articles. But certainly not a crisis and there is zero evidence of Genocide of any kind, further, Russia essentially invaded and annexed Crimea and helped the opposition group in Donbas and offered no evidence to support their claims. So this idea that Putin is some misunderstood guy fighting Murderous Nazis doesn’t hold water to me. The fact that he was upset about obvious us support of the end of his regime and a pro western unfriendly government on his doorstep seems to be the motivating factor to me. But regardless, why are we blaming the us for supporting a pro western Ukraine? How does that make the us the bad guys? They didn’t invade anyone. Ukraine determined their own fate and the fairy tale of raging armies of Nazis remains to this day exaggerated and unproven. Liked the guys writing though, but unless he magically knows something no one else does this isn’t about Putin coming to save Russians from Nazis. I can accept that the us jumped on this pro western Ukraine train like teen girls at a boy band concert and that was probably a mistake but it doesn’t remove the responsibility of invasion from Russia shoulders. If anything this should just remind us all that in war there is rarely good and bad, just self interests. Russia is not wasting the bulk of their military on a good will humanitarian crusade and if you believe otherwise idk what to say.
Yeah, as I’ve said, I’m all for a thread with actual info and not the last 50 pages of pointless unhelpful garbage.
