In WWII Japan sank 34 US warships and damaged hundreds of others with hastily-trained (some teenagers) Kamikaze pilots. But a Russian ship sank (for some reason) which is how we know it’s losing.
Maybe. Still, they happened. Your top-tier fighter aircraft are still just as destroyed by Ukrainian fighter pilots who waxed those tails. Remind me: weren’t those Ukrainian fighters supposed to be destroyed on the ground within 12-48 hours? Oh, that’s right … Russia doesn’t have to hold to “our timetable” for air superiority. Great Russian Air Force benevolently lets Ukraine keep fighters in order for make glorious more sport of war, like Predator let Arnold keep weapons.
So the US sent American troops to Ukraine in 2014 to annex the country. I must have really missed it. If you could provide a link it would be appreciated. On the other hand in 2014 the Ukrainians did vote to oust Putin's puppet Viktor Yanukovych in a free and fair election. Interestingly, if Putin had the swift victory in Ukraine that he counted on when he invaded the country back in February he probably would have installed Yanukovych back in office to lead a pro-Russian puppet government.
No dispute. You should definitely use that factoid to explain away all future Russian defeats in the field.
You don’t really believe Ukraine is a sovereign country, do you ? In order to be considered a sovereign country, don’t you have to call the shots ? Ukraine: The CIA’s 75-year-old Proxy - CovertAction Magazine
What if it wants to be annexed because other parts of its country has been killing its civilians for years ?
So are you suggesting Ukraine was a sovereign country when Yanukovych was president and that it lost its sovereignty following the 2014 election or that it was never really sovereign and went from being a Russian client state under Yanukovych to becoming a US client state (your narrative) in 2014?
Just wait. His schtick is going to get more fun with each passing defeat. At some point, when Ukraine deliberately halts its advance short of the Russian border, he’ll dance a victory jig that Russia stopped a Nazi invasion, which was its ultimate objective from the beginning.
So the US lost a single F117 over Serbia. On the other hand. Ukraine has shot down 55 Russian warplanes, U.S. general says Even if that number is somewhat of an exaggeration, the Russians still lost a number of planes and in no way have absolute air superiority over Ukraine.
I presume that you're referring to the Battle of Okinawa. So the US lost 34 ships to Kamikaze pilots. For context, this was the size of the fleet at the battle.
You guys are concocting so many arbitrary reasons, to pin this all on Putin, that you’re eventually going to whittle it down to cold countries that eat bortsch and drink vodka not permitted to invade other countries. That frees up temperate countries that prefer pizza and beer to have their way with other countries.
The difference in each case is that America (in modern times) invaded these countries for (real, not imaginary) security reasons, did not intentionally target the civilian population, did not take natural resources of the country, did not set up puppet governments, and did not stay permanently. Russia cannot say that. All I'm saying is that people who cannot recognize that difference are uproariously pathetic.
Russian families in Crimea are evacuating through Russia to "Stan" countries to the south of Russia to escape the draft. Looks like there won't be any Russians to "protect" in Crimea pretty soon. Nice work, Putin. Let's hope he doesn't botch the surrender this badly. Russia's war in Ukraine: Live updates
Putin "makes it easier to become a Russian citizen" for anyone willing to join the Russian military (and be cannon fodder in Ukraine). How horrible would your home country have to be to make this offer seem attractive? Could Putin get any more desperate? Could the Russian people become any more desperate? The article reports that some Russians are furiously pedaling bicycles to get them to the border. Russia's war in Ukraine: Live updates
