Actually, I think you're confusing the number of Russian troops sent to Ukraine with the combined total of Russians killed, wounded, captured or which deserted in Ukraine. Russia has lost up to 80,000 troops in Ukraine. Or 75,000. Or is it 60,000?
I think that is what we, In the West, are hoping for, (Putin Over-Throw) but I get your point, much like when Saddam was deposed an argument could be made that was not exactly a good thing despite what a madman and pathetic leader he was. Like everything in life, if the Russian Federation falls apart, will Putin be replaced by better or worse people? it seems like, lately, the idea of "Altruism" on the world political stage is not even a consideration. It really speaks to the low character of our species. Reference the movie (Aliens) - Ripley speaking to: BURKE - At least THEY aren't F-in each other over........for a percentage..................... Perhaps if Putin goes down it won't all be about greed and corruption by the replacements, but, I'm sure thats just naive and unrealistic thinking on my part. Especially in that part of the world. In these times.
What happens when Ukraine advances on areas, where Russian troops are absent, as in Kharkiv: according to Ukrainian sources, the loss of 1-2 brigades of men and 40% of their equipment. What happens when Ukraine advances on areas where Russian troops are present, as in Kherson: according to Ukrainian sources, the loss of 3-5 brigades of men and most of their equipment.
Just one clarification, the Ukrainians didn't occupy an area devoid of Russians when they launched their offensive. Russian troops were in Kharkiv until they fled leaving massive amounts of equipment behind. Although it happened over 50 years ago reminds me of the way the Egyptian Army fled from the Israelis in the Sinai in the 6-day War back in 1967. As far as Kherson is concerned Ukrainian progress is slower than it was in Kharkiv considering that the Russians were prepared for the Ukrainian offensive although even there the Ruskies are being pushed back albeit slowly.
Comrade, your silly statement makes the esteemed commanders of the glorious Russian forces appear to be total idiots. If the Russian troops are absent and the Ukraine forces lose 1-2 brigades and 40% of their equipment, the obvious intelligent strategy would be to immediately withdraw from all Ukraine territory and await the inevitable complete Ukrainian self-destruction. OR it could be you are 100% FOS.
FYI: the ‘abandoned equipment’, down to the bicycles, is fakery, likely old photos from places like Crimea. This was an orderly withdrawal, no panic. Russians knew of the counter-offensive in advance and wasn’t stupid enough, as NATO would have been, to try and hold territory with a garrison vs. multiple brigades.
This thread is becoming less and less useful as everyone here feeds the troll. It’s becoming 70 percent of the posts that the rest of us have to weed through. And for what, he isn’t going to stop, you could tell him the sky was blue and if Putin said it was green there would be pages fighting over that.
Let’s not rationalize defeat like he’s doing. When he’s wrong, he’s wrong. When he’s right, he’s right. Afghanistan was a terrible strategic defeat, no matter how one skins it. Let’s just leave it at that. (And afghani is a currency; Afghan is a person)
Yep. we don't have to put him on ignore, but it's not hard to just ignore. Stop replying and he'll get bored and post how fake viruses are in covid threads within a week.
You need to understand the new narrative: “We couldn’t possibly have lost to Ukraine. Losing to Ukraine would be beneath us. Therefore, all of those troops who just kicked our ass through our shoulders were ‘NATO’ troops, not Ukrainian troops.”
It does make one wonder with all the blood and treasure that mother Russia is expending versus the return they are getting on their ahem "investment". You can't bullshit your way to victory.
From the brain of American militarism, the Rand Corp. An excerpt which alludes to at least two proxy wars, that the US is losing to Russia, as well as a color revolution that was thwarted by Russia. It’s almost like we’re the 2022 Gators. How is it we have all these speedsters but they can’t return a kick past the 18 yard line ?
back of envelope math ... Reportedly, Russia controlled over 132,000 sq km of land prior to last week. Then, Ukraine reportedly took 8,000 sq km. The counter-offensive was said to have been six months in the making. So Ukraine would need something like 17 more such operations, over a period of 8 1/2 years, with infusions of hundreds of thousands of NATO troops and tens of scores of billions of new weapons to eject the Russians from Ukraine. Of course it would have to hope that Russia voluntarily withdrew from every point of insertion before hand. Also, and since multiple cancers have failed to fell Putin, he would have to take Pfizer vaccines to finish him off.
You are probably right. It is fascinating, though, to get some insight into what Russia is telling itself as the house of cards comes tumbling down.
Putin support strong in Russia as actor Bryan Cranston receives s*** for being an able-bodied man playing a Quadriplegic.
