Large russian supply ship hit, trying to limp back to port. Would have to think it would be an easy drone kill at this point. I hope our anti drone game is better than Russias. Ukraine is owning the black sea right now. https://www.mirror.co.uk/news/world-news/breaking-new-russian-navy-ship-26950645
I think the references to canceling people from the past like Irving Berlin and sikorsky are reaching for dramatic purposes. The "cancelling " of all things Russia at the moment is at least in part to serve as a wake up call to Putin and any Russians who support their invasion. The world is against it and it takes more than just changing your Facebook profile to a "Stand with Ukraine " filter to try and force action. I don't see nations making policy to cancel all things Russian throughout history and culture.
That cancel reference is just Russian spin for the world not rolling over and letting Russia do whatever the hell it wants. In this case putting the old Soviet empire back in place. Putin et al have major butt hurt over losing the cold war. He wants payback. No one is proposing to erase Russia from the map no matter how much they may deserve it.
If the sinking of the Moskva wasn't enough this is another indicator that an amphibious assault of Odessa by the Russians in not in the cards.
Let's hope that is the case, although the Russians have been lobbing missiles into Odessa (industrial sites, supply lines, a shopping mall, residential areas where we all know nazis like to congregate)
I assume they know how to fix that quandary (officially declare war), but it leads to other quandaries under international law. For instance, neutral countries can refuse the merchant ships of belligerent powers and seize their shipping in neutral ports. On the whole, not much changes in fact, but it does change matters in the information environment if Russia officially declares war.
Russia says it'll stop electricity supplies to Finland over 'payment issues' amid NATO tensions | Daily Mail Online
"The Finnish electricity network operator said it would be able to make do without Russian electricity. 'We're prepared for this and it won't be difficult. We can make do with a bit more imports from Sweden and Norway,' Fingrid's manager for operational planning Timo Kaukonen told AFP." In other words, HAHA Russia we don't care
