Meanwhile, in the free world. And this is manifestly not a pro-Russian site, more an anti-war site. War fever I guess ... PayPal Cancels CN Account; May Seize Balance
Seen on the internet ... “Putin is the world's most accomplished terminal disease survivor - sarcoma of the spine, Parkinson's, multiple types of cancer...” Seriously, you folks who hate Russia with a visceral passion should PRAY for Putin’s health. I understand he’s nowhere near the hardliner some in his inner circle are.
Pelosi: “Do you have any troops left ?” _elensky: “Yes, they’re bedraggled, tired, hungry and increasingly we’re having to rely on conscripts.” Pelosi: “Good! Tell them to keep fighting. We have Soviet era helicopters and Cold War era tanks on the way!”
Not sure why you’re mocking Soviet-era equipment. It’s what your pathetic army is fighting with. And at least the Ukrainians will be receiving Soviet-era equipment that works since it has been maintained by armies that understand the apparently Western concepts of putting air in the tires, replacing worn parts, not selling the brakes on the black market, and such.
I went to see the bolshoi in 2001 or 2002. I thought it was interesting that their curtains still had CCCP(Soviet)on them after all that time. Perhaps it was foreshadowing?
Putin was a huge Bolshoi supporter. They hold this massive gala televised on TV for opera, ballet, orchestra pieces...it's breathtaking. Putin "presides" over the opening. This was pre Covid of course. I think it was just left because those things are gorgeous & opulent & why waste money changing it? But yeah Putin's been around for years so not shocked those would have those emblems.
The most amazing thing was the price of the tickets. We were staying at a Marriott downtown I think. We asked the concierge about the bolshoi and he said they had a minor ballet going. We said we wanted tickets. He said how much do you want to pay and I said 50 bucks meaning 50 bucks each for 4 tickets. He responded for 100 bucks I can get you great seats. I joked and said 100 bucks for 4. He answered yep. We sat first row center seats. It was some stupid Scottish ballet.(the men were in kilts) but I have sat in the bolshoi and watched a ballet. I think it was la syphildae. I think the bolshoi just finished doing it again. lol. Appearantly it's a famous ballet. Shows what I know.
On this one I agree with the nay votes.and I can see amendments coming that would eventually include anyone our congressional representatives see as a potential threat. If any thing this will do nothing more than move us closer to boots on the ground not to mention alienating a Russian society that could be allies versus enemies. Believe me other nations are paying very close attention to this development. Every US corporation that is currently in China or other parts of the globe should be shaking in their boots. Four Republicans, four Democrats vote ‘no’ on bill urging Biden to confiscate assets from sanctioned oligarchs
Russia controls the skies, grinding Ukrainian ground forces to dust, now controls the sea ... Ukraine formally closes seaports captured by Russia
Don’t you just hate to see it? Yet another industrial accident in Russia. Russia doesn’t seem to understand the causes or be able to stop these unfortunate events
I thought that was swan lake. If we mention the nutcracker that will exhaust every ballet I know or have seen.
From your lips to God’s ears, but I’ll settle for sweeping the skies and seas clear of disgusting Russians and let Ukrainian boots keep doing the fighting on the ground.
Swan Lake is short tutus & feathers. Sylphs/Spirits (Les Sylphides, La Sylphide, Giselle, for example) have long floaty skirts to just below the knees. on the rare occasion long ones are used for Swan Lake they have feathers too. The little wings I'm talking about look like tiny fairy wings at the waist. Which are a pain in the behind when turning.
