No idea. And yes I'd heard it before in history class...just thought it was an idiotic statement in a long string of idiotic statements by a Russian mouthpiece ;)

Kick them out of NATO. You don't have to let Ukraine in because that ship has sailed. Or threaten Russia with putting them in retroactively if they don't get out. But Hungary needs to be kicked out of NATO & the EU.

A sight to see...they apparently have their own English language Telegraph & use the "new" Russian flag. Hopefully builds momentum for real change in Russia.

From CNN live...Israeli reaction to Lavrov's comments. And they're MAD MAD.

"Israel’s Foreign Ministry summoned the Russian Ambassador to Israel on Monday over Lavrov’s remarks.

Dani Dayan, who chairs the Yad Vashem Holocaust remembrance site in Israel, said it was “completely unfounded” to say Hitler was of Jewish descent. And he slammed Russia’s labelling of Ukrainians as Nazis.

“Equally serious is calling the Ukrainians in general, and President Zelensky in particular, Nazis. This, among other things, is a complete distortion of the history and a serious affront to the victims of Nazism,” Dayan said on Twitter.

(Ukraine's Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba) "FM Lavrov could not help hiding the deeply-rooted antisemitism of the Russian elites," Kuleba said Monday on his official Twitter account. "His heinous remarks are offensive to President [Zelensky], Ukraine, Israel, and the Jewish people. More broadly, they demonstrate that today’s Russia is full of hatred towards other nations.""

I get--and share--Israel's objection to painting Zelensky and Urkraine as Nazi's....

I'm not sure about the objection to the possibility that Hitler was of Jewish descent, as it bears no reflection on Israel or Jews. If no Jewish descent can be established, he remains as history always knew him--evil incarnate, anti-semetic POS; if however, Jewish descent can be established, that serves only to make him out that much more of a hypocritical POS--doesn't reflect on Isreal or the Jews at all. IMHO.

...but of course, any association w/ Hitler is generally a huge negative, so I suppose I get it in that sense.

yeah, the sensitivity is around Jews being blamed for everything. Their fear is that they will eventually be blamed for Hitler, however distorted the argument would have to be to get there.

BTW, why do world wars always start in Europe ? Don’t Europeans constantly chide the rest of the world for its lack of sophistication ?

Just in: France unable to compensate for financial losses due to absence of Russians.

Maybe they need a special promotion:

The assault on the beach itself would be relatively easy for a power skilled in combined-arms operations (in other words, not Russia). What would make it difficult for any power and impossible for Russia would be logistically sustaining the beachhead under circumstances where they don’t have maritime and air superiority. If you thought their air assault on Kyiv Airport looked like it was planned and executed by children playing at war, then make extra popcorn for any amphibious operation beyond the scope of a raid or feint.

Hilarious. I needed a good laugh. In fact, I could use another. Would you please give us an update how many aircraft, armored vehicles, and soldiers you’ve lost so far against a country you were supposed to subjugate in less than a week?

$100 drones taking out multi-million dollar naval craft, tanks, armoured vehicles...

I'm thinking the exchage rate still favors the Ukes significantly, even if they're being shot down by the 20's.

BTW, did you catch that vid up thread of the dude on a hill logging like 4 tanks, a couple of choppers, some armoured vehicles, a few sitting duck paratroopers, and a Mig for good measure?

Vlady's getting shitter bang for his buck exchange rate from his war toys than the ruble vs the dollar...

Why isn’t Russia operating on your timeline ?

Aside, regarding Ukrainian reports of Russian generals killed: Russian generals should get punch cards. When they’ve been killed for the tenth time, they get a week off in Sochi.
