Sure. I can see that. 4 years to do it with Trump a sure fire green light, but Putin waited until Mighty Joe Dumb took office. Makes perfect sense.
sounds like ukraine is running out of artillery made by Russia. Until US artillery and shells get there, ukraine likely to lose some ground. also sounds like russian ground troops are still undersupplied, undermanned, and not well led or trained. not sure why drones wouldn't be effective in taking out russian artillery
Quite likely. But doesn't mean he's wrong in this instance. It's opinion obviously because it's not actually happening.
Cnn live "UK war crime experts will fly to Ukraine to help investigate "atrocities" by Russian forces From CNN's Sarah Diab and Jorge Engels in London They will arrive in Poland next week to meet the Ukrainian government, international partners, NGOs and refugees, according to a statement from the Foreign Office (FCDO). .... The news comes as UK Foreign Secretary Liz Truss travels to the Hague on Friday to meet with the International Criminal Court (ICC) President, Judge Piotr Hofmanski. Truss will also work with her Dutch counterpart, Wopke Hoekstra, during her visit to jointly hold Russia to account, the statement added. "Russia has brought barbarity to Ukraine and committed vile atrocities, including against women," Truss said in the statement. UK Deputy Prime Minister Dominic Raab also visited the Hague in March to support the ICC's investigations as well as a report produced under the OSCE (Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe's Moscow Mechanism), which found evidence of torture, rape and forced deportation of more than half a million people in Ukraine."
Cnn live- from a long Mariupol piece. A small thing but still... "(Andrushchenko) He said the Russians' allies in the self-declared Donetsk People's Republic were trying to "nationalize" Ukrainian property, such as the port. ..... Andrushchenko also said the Russians were also beginning a property census in parts of Mariupol, "despite public objections." The census will assess the state of high-rise buildings in the southern port city, as well as surviving apartments and their owners, he said. "Yesterday in Mariupol the occupiers issued the first birth certificate for the last month. For the first time in Mariupol, a Russian terrorist satellite has officially stolen the citizenship of our Ukrainian child," Andrushchenko added."" ........ They're little things in the scheme of things but it's like a slow-moving infection. Claim the properties, claim the baby is a "citizen" of the occupiers (DPR) so it must be "protected", etc. Also, that poor mother giving birth in those conditions. Yes I know she's not the only one & whenever I hear of something like that I do spare them a thought & am in awe of their strength.
When I spent time in Russia 20 years ago there were 3 major groups of Americans flying over. American couples adopting children, American men buying wives and petroleum and pipeline engineers flying over to develop the Russian oil fields. I wonder if they ever developed the talent to do it themselves?
Another pro-Ukrainian correspondent ... @anders_aslund The War: Ukraine has experienced setback in the past few days. A senior Ukrainian official announced yesterday that Russian troops had taken part of the Kharkiv region. Yesterday, Russia announced that it has captured the entire Kherson region. No Ukrainian advances. Not good.
“Russia is increasing the pace of offensive in Ukraine in all directions, – Speaker of the Ukrainian Defense Ministry Oleksandr Motuzyanyk. Apparently, even the Armed Forces of Ukraine are tired of the lulling lies of Arestovich.” Well, when you’re operating from a position of weakness, all you have is lies.
It's the little things. Putin bringing back things from the Era of the USSR, including resorting to bootlegged movies
Interesting- a group within Germany wants to reduce their country’s support for Ukraine - calling Ukraine excessively nationalistic and that the EU is done with all that.
