To be concerned about, surely. To be paralyzed into inaction due to his threats, never. MAD cuts both ways by definition. And I don’t think we should be cowering in the corner while he brazenly invades and subjugates a sovereign nation. His nuclear weapons effectively deter the U.S. from using its weapons, and vice versa. I’m fine with that. But his suggestion that he might use them if we intervene conventionally (or apparently even if he keep providing weapons) is beyond ridiculous. The whole purpose of this war in Putin’s vision is to restore Russia to former glories. If he uses nuclear weapons, he turns his beloved Russia into a large plain of radioactive glass, and he knows it. That is a far worse outcome than simply losing Ukraine. It’s a bluff, pure and simple.
I know I was panicky in the beginning. But at this point if he has Imperial ambitions then nukes would be counterproductive. Because then we have the green light to just obliterate Russia, too. They may have more nukes but not by that much & we know ours worn. Right now I have serious doubts that (a) soldiers would carry out orders to launch, and (b) that the launches would be successful. Plus if he offensively nukes, I don't know that China stands for that because it would affect them, too (fallout). Not that I think they'd help the west but they'd likely tell Russia they're on their own & break their alliance.
Let's try this in the right thread LOL Closer to labeling Russia a terrorist state? Cnn live "US State Department: Russia's recent attacks in Ukraine show a "campaign of terror" From CNN's Kyle Atwood and Christian Sierra State Department spokesperson Ned Price said that Russia’s attacks in Ukraine in recent days further illustrate that the country is “undertaking a campaign of terror” against the people of Ukraine when responding to a question about Russia’s recent strikes in Lviv, Ukraine. “The fact is that Russia, more than just launching an invasion, more than just launching a war, has launched, is undertaking a campaign of terror, a campaign of brutality, a campaign of despicable aggression against the people of Ukraine. And so when it comes to what we've seen in recent hours, and in terms of the strikes against Lviv, in terms of the strikes in the outskirts of Kyiv, or what we've seen in towns like Mariupol, towns like Kharkiv, what we've witnessed in Bucha, this, these are clear indications, they are a clear testament to the campaign of brutality, the campaign of terror that the Russians are waging against the people of Ukraine,” Price said. Price also noted that the Pentagon said earlier in the day that Russian strikes in recent days “have targeted military instillations, military adjacent instillations.” "
You have hit on part of what we need to do, regarding China. Hopefully, in a quiet and in as diplomatic a manner as possible, we have advised China that due to their obvious collusion with Russia, we must interpret any nuclear attack by them anywhere in the world as an attack also by China against the United States, requiring our full retaliatory response.
Agree with uft, the oppressor thought Nato, Ukraine and the US were weak. wrong, wrong and wrong again. Now he has an unimaginable shit storm to deal with. A 3rd rate economy about to become 3rd world. A military in crises. NATO and the USA aligned again. Oh and yeah, A Ukranian tiger by the tail. His vision of Ukrainian women greeting his aggression and soldiers with flowers and re-establishing post WW2 frontier shattered. I sense an "Umbrella Jab" coming his way.
I would hope it's been covered. It's one thing to side with propaganda. It's another to agree to Russia basically making China's farms unusable for years due to fallout. And that's IF it's just a small nuke & they don't go full out & nuke everyone.
My word to China on that is, if Russia uses just one or two nukes and only in Ukraine, that I would only believe China was not in on it if (and only if) China carried out a proportional response against Russia itself. Otherwise, China’s finger is as good as on the button, too.
So Israel has an interesting decision. But they original decision was essentially giving in to a bribe, so not surprised they are here. Putin demands Russia gain control of Jerusalem church as promised

"About 1,000 civilians are sheltering in Mariupol's besieged Azovstal plant, patrol police chief estimates From CNN's Olga Voitovych Civilians, including women, children, and the elderly, are sheltering inside the Azovstal iron and steel plant in the besieged Ukrainian port of Mariupol, according to Myhailo Vershynin, the chief of the Mariupol patrol police. Vershynin told CNN he was at the Azovstal plant, one of the city’s last bastions still under Ukrainian control which has been the focal point of heavy Russian bombardment following weeks of grinding warfare in the city that has leveled much of its infrastructure. According to Vershynin, civilians sheltering in Azovstal include women with infants, the elderly, as well as small children. He estimated that there were about 1,000 people in total. He said Azovstal had "quite large reserves" of food and water, but supplies were running out fast."
Awards being handed out to Bucha soldiers...the one Russia said didn't happen, it was propaganda, but if it happened they're proud & would do it again.
