We could use some humor. Also illustrates the credibility of Vlad with respect to some of his actual statements.
Cnn live "President Duque: Colombia ready to step up energy supplies to the west to replace Russian imports From CNN's Steffano Pozzebon in Atlanta ....... During an interview with CNN’s Richard Quest, Duque said: “[North American and European countries] know for sure that they can no longer rely for the energy supplies from Russia. Now, can Colombia contribute to the solution? The response is yes.” Duque listed three areas where Colombia would be ready to increase production: traditional oil and gas extraction, renewables such as clean hydrogen, and coal. “Colombia today immediately can have an increase on coal. … We have some of the biggest resources in the world, and we don’t use it [for power production],” Duque told Quest while he announced that Colombia will increase coal supplies to Germany — which recently approved plans to phase out Russian coal imports – following direct conversations between Duque and Chancellor Olaf Scholz. Asked about US President Biden’s use of the world "genocide" to describe Russian actions in Ukraine, Duque told Quest he agreed with his US counterpart. “What is happening in Ukraine is a genocide. And it has to stop. … This is insane,” Duque told Quest."
Cnn live "Heartbreaking moment as mother finds body of her son dumped in a well From CNN's Abby Baggini and Jonny Hallam The heart-wrenching moment when a Ukrainian mother's worst fears come true — the discovery of her son's lifeless body, dumped in a shallow well after the retreat of Russian forces — has been documented on video. The distressing scene witnessed by journalists from AFP on Sunday in the town Buzova, a liberated village near the capital, Kyiv, encapsulates the personal human tragedy of Russia's war on Ukraine. "My little son," the woman wails, as she falls onto her knees, peering down into the well, recognizing her son by his shoes. .... The video shows police pulling her son's body from the well and wrapping him in a white body bag. Upon seeing his body the woman tries to force past a makeshift cordon. Four men hold her back. "I won't leave," she cries out."
There is more to the situation than meets the eye. Biden promised to make Saudi Arabia a pariah state after Saudi crown prince bin Salman had the journalist killed. For some reason, bin Salman does not like Biden. Not saying who is right in this case, but it is clear that bin Salman would not cross the street to spit on Biden. Biden had the option of trying to work with the Saudis to improve the prince's behavior, or burning the house down. Biden chose to burn the house down. And this is probably a direct result of that house-burning. Saudi state-funded TV aired a sketch mocking Biden as a forgetful, sleepy old man as US-Saudi relations hit new low
Can't say I blame them. Every country has a price. It's why we tend to overlook the Saudis (kashoggi, yemen, etc.) That oil ain't cheap.
Really it is difficult to tell who is the terrorist state and who is our ally. Iran or Saudi Arabia. Call the Saudis bluff let's go drill in Iran.
I don't think the Saudis have done anything comparable to invading a neighbor with attempts to exterminate them. Compared to the Russian invasion of Ukraine, the Saudi government's offenses have been fairly minor. Nothing worth burning the bridge for.
Isn’t he the poster who repeatedly posted that Biden was war mongering and the Russians were not going to invade? No posting drivel about the unbeatable Russian army?
I'm guessing you haven't read up much on Yemen. 400k deaths and counting. Unfortunately many parts of the world do not get the level of attention Ukraine is currently receiving. To be clear, thats US arms being used on civilians in Yemen.
and Kashoggi, and Qatar, who he allegedly wanted to invade but had Tillerson talk him out of, Syria, where he pressed Russia to prop up Assad allegedly, Lebanon, where he internally held their PM prisoner until he agreed to resign, Canada who he cut off relations with when they pointed out his human rights abuses, among other things. I will gladly pay more for oil if it means dumping them as a “partner”. As I have said for years, the greatest benefit to developing renewables is having the ability to tell that entire autocratic and wholly dysfunctional oligarchy of oil producers to go fornicate with themselves.
Great points. I also want to throw in, people think that Saudis/Gulf Arabs are very wealthy. If you go visit, you will see the opposite. The vast majority of the people in these countries, especially Saudi Arabia, are dirt poor. The wealth is concentrated so that the average Saudi doesn't even have a voice.
