It's a pretty simple question, what is our goal, and what's the reasoning behind it? It sounds like from your response that the goal is to atone for our errors in the middle east by correcting this wrong by Russia?
I am sorry if I am not writing what I mean. I was answering two questions of yours. Separate things, Russia is trying to spread their evil far and wide. I feel for Russians trapped in Russia but we have to support countries that are invaded by evil regimes.
What exactly is a liberal communist flag? The largest US foreign military bases are in Germany, Japan, South Korea, Italy. Do you see a theme there? And you think they asked us to put them there? Maybe you should try reading. lol.

Head of Russian Space Program Claims That the US “Doesn’t Have Any Spacecraft” "This time, he’s conveniently bending reality to impress Chinese officials and convince them to help Russia with its space program, which has been largely cut off from international support following Russia’s invasion of Ukraine. In an interview with Chinese state media network CGTN, Rogozin argued that Russia’s role in the International Space Station “is vital. Only Russia’s Soyuz spacecraft can transport American, European, Canadian, Japanese astronauts and their guests.” “Soyuz is irreplaceable, because America doesn’t have any spacecraft,” he added." .....
US cracks down on Russian debt payments, latest sovereign payments halted - CNN Good. They shouldn't have been allowed to make that earlier bond payment either.
Cnn live "Ukraine needs "serious players" when it comes to security guarantees, says Zelensky From CNN’s Niamh Kennedy in London .... Speaking to journalists on Ukrainian state TV Tuesday, Zelensky said Ukraine has not yet received "a specific list of these countries that are prepared to 100% stand up for us." He said Ukraine is currently discussing security guarantees with countries including France, US, Germany, Turkey, Britain and Poland. .... These countries need to be states "who have real influence over the sanctions policy" and who are prepared to mobilize "as soon as we hear any threats from the Russian Federation," he added. "These countries would come together. And within 24 hours, two or three days will impose everything, block everything. And simply put this country in a containment," he said. On the topic of NATO membership, Zelensky said that even if Russia "sets it as a condition" that Ukraine does not join the alliance, the country has "given away too many lives not to be frank." "If we are offered NATO membership tomorrow without playing with our lives, then we will join," he added." .... I think they've more than paid for membership & protection. The problem here is NATO has shown it doesn't have the backbone. Plus Hungary is a NATO member & the pro-Putin guy just won again. Therefore getting all NATO members to agree on action will likely be futile. Question is will anyone actually step up for those guarantees? Because so far everything is once again talk & this man is left standing alone. Yes he's getting equipment. That's going to be hard to operate if there's no one left to fight off the Russians who've already conscripted more soldiers. Where's the threat to Russia for involving other countries btw? There should've been nothing left on the table for sanctions not that they care.
Speaking of escalations...CNN live "Civilian ship attacked in Mariupol port by Russian military, Ukraine says From CNN's Nathan Hodge A civilian ship in the port of Mariupol is on fire and sinking after being hit by Russian troops, according to Ukraine's Ministry of Interior. The ship, under a Dominican Republic flag, was berthed in the port when it was hit by shells during an ongoing attack on the besieged southern Ukrainian city, the ministry said in a statement Tuesday on its Telegram channel. A fire broke out in the engine room before spreading and at least one crew member is known to have been injured, the statement said. .... "Warning! Warning! The ship under the flag of the Dominican Republic was brutally destroyed, everything was destroyed, the captain’s bridge was destroyed. Fire in engine room. There are wounded on board,” the captain reportedly said." .... You know, because the Dominican flag is so much like the Ukranian flag.
Oh now he has regrets. Cnn live "German President expresses regret over previous stance on Russia From Reuters German President Frank-Walter Steinmeier, long an advocate of Western rapprochement with Russia, expressed regret for his earlier stance, saying his years of support for the Nord Stream 2 gas pipeline had been a clear mistake. Steinmeier, a Social Democrat who served as Foreign Minister under Chancellor Angela Merkel before being elevated to the presidency, said Russia's invasion of Ukraine meant he and others had to reckon honestly with what they had got wrong. My adherence to Nord Stream 2 was clearly a mistake," he said. "We were sticking to a bridge in which Russia no longer believed and which other partners had warned us against." ..... We failed to build a common European house," Steinmeier said. "I did not believe Vladimir Putin would embrace his country's complete economic, political and moral ruin for the sake of his imperial madness," he added. "In this, I, like others, was mistaken.""
From CNN live...remember Russia & China etc saying this was staged? Now what? " Satellite images undermine Russian denials: The Russian Defense Ministry claimed a video showing bodies of civilians in a Bucha street was “fake” and “staged,” yet new satellite imagery from Maxar Technologies shows the bodies had been present since at least March 18, when Russia was in control of the town. Russia held Bucha until March 31. CNN has reached out to the Russian Defense Ministry for comment."
This twitter string quotes a Russian official attempting to justify what sounds like the planned widespread murder of Ukrainians. What to do with Ukraine?
I agree that those quotations sound like a suggestion to murder off the Ukrainians most likely to cause trouble during Russia’s plan subjugation of Ukraine. No surprise there. That is the Russian template for bringing new lands to heel and has been since the early days of the Empire. All the more reason why the only acceptable end state is Russia fully expelled from Ukraine, including Donbas and Crimea. Anywhere Russia sits in Ukraine when this is over will be fully depopulated of ethnic Ukrainians one way or another. Just look at area the Russia occupies around Koenigsberg (what they call Kaliningrad). It had a population that was damn-near 100% German in 1945, and now is populated almost exclusively by ethnic Russians, despite the fact that the enclave is physically separated from the rest of Russia. That isn’t an accident of history. It was deliberate population management by the Russians.
Don't worry, Daddy Putin- Trump & his supporters have your back. Meanwhile... cnn live "Kremlin calls Biden's war crimes accusations against Russia “unacceptable and disgraceful” Following US President Joe Biden’s calls for a war crimes trial against Russian President Vladimir Putin, the Kremlin said personal insults are “unacceptable and disgraceful.” Biden has accused Putin of war crimes for atrocities allegedly committed by Russian forces in the Ukrainian town of Bucha. “Personal insults against the President of Russia continue, this is bad. We consider this unacceptable and disgraceful of the US President,” the Kremlin’s spokesperson Dmitry Peskov told reporters on a regular conference call." ...... Do NOT walk it back this time.
Cnn live "EU finance ministers ready to step up sanctions on Russia From CNN’s Chris Liakos in London and James Frater in Brussels European finance ministers will meet in Luxembourg on Tuesday to discuss imposing further sanctions on Russia following reports of alleged war crimes in Bucha. "We have new images from satellites on what is happening, what was happening in Bucha. And we have to react," Paolo Gentiloni, European Commissioner for the Economy, said Tuesday. He reiterated that "nothing is off the table." French Finance Minister Bruno Le Maire said that oil and coal sanctions "are a possibility." Le Maire said he was not sure what the position of the 27 member states will be, but said he thinks there is "total determination" of all the member states to "enforce sanctions.""
Close, but not quite, in my opinion. I would again make a distinction between subjugation and straight-up genocide. The Russian plan sounds exactly like previous Russian plans to subjugate Ukraine: kill or (if they’re lucky) exile anyone who makes trouble or looks like they’re going to make trouble; remove all symbols and artifacts that make the people there think they are anything but Russian; and, most importantly, get the people back to work. They certainly want to destroy the Ukrainian sense of identity, but I still think there is quite a contrast from killing every man, woman, and child as the Final Solution intended.
Cnn live "People instructed to stay indoors after nitric acid tank hit by Russian strike in eastern Ukraine From CNN's Yulia Kesaieva in Lyiv Residents in the eastern Ukrainian town of Rubizhne have been told to stay indoors after a Russian strike hit a tank of nitric acid, causing a cloud of toxic smoke to cover the area. It is unclear how much acid was in the tank but the substance is “quite toxic,” the head of the Luhansk regional military administration, Serhiy Haidai, warned on Tuesday. People have been told to stay indoors or wear a face mask dipped in sodium solution and watch the direction of the wind. “It's better to wait inside, this acid will decompose after the rain. But nobody knows when it's going to rain. So please watch this pink cloud and if it moves towards you — please hide inside and wait inside. This was a direct hit in the tank,” Haidai said in a statement."
