I am perfectly okay with Ukraine striking targets in Russia, with or without tools we have provided or will provide, so long as it is air or indirect fire. Where I draw the line is actual incursion by ground troops. Other than that, I say go to town. The Russians have invited it.
Biden should also forbid Ukrainian farmers from driving off with the Kremlin when the Ukrainian army does get to Moscow.
Imagine becoming a high ranked officer in the military and not understanding why you don't dig trenches near Chernobyl. Wow. A whole bunch of Russian soldiers are going to die.
NBC is reporting confirmation that it was a Ukrainian operation. Hit by helicopter launched missiles.
Cnn live "President of European Parliament meets with Ukrainian President during "heroic" visit to Ukraine From CNN's Niamh Kennedy in London European Parliament President Roberta Metsola traveled to Ukraine and met with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, who called it a "heroic" visit. Metsola, the first leader of an EU institution to visit Ukraine since the Russian invasion began, posted a picture of her shaking hands with Zelensky on Twitter Friday. "Courage, strength, resolve. With Zelensky in Kyiv. Slava Ukraini!" Metsola captioned the photo. Her visit was welcomed by the Ukrainian leader who, in a speech posted to social media on Friday, called it an "important moment" for the country. "You demonstrate heroism because it's heroic to come to Ukraine at this time. Of course, we defend Ukraine because it's our country and our life but to come from abroad, it's a very important step of support of our people," Zelensky remarked."
I still have a lot of questions about how that could be true. I hope it is. But there is much that doesn’t make sense. I hope Ukraine does a military briefing on it.
As tempting as it must be, it really does not serve the Ukrainian war effort for the focus to shift in any way to attacks on Russian soil. This is not a death match where one nation will eventually conquer the other. Russia simply needs to GTFO of Ukraine.
It makes sense to me, hit the fuel depot so they can't refuel their tanks. The tanks run out of fuel and the Ukranian farmers steal them.
I like one of the replies -- "But we’re so afraid of what will happen if we provide too much support to Ukraine! This is disgusting if ever a cause worthy to press us assets this is it. Send cruise missles support Ukraine army with drone support."
This seems like a bad strategic idea for Russia. The Russians next tough military action will be trying to quelch the coming Belarus rebellion. Doing that with no nukes in the area just seems easier to me.
There is alleged video of the helicopters and then the fireball. The Russians say it was Ukraine. I will see if I can find the video on line.
Their leadership doesn’t care. Belarus is now a vassal State in the current “Russian Empire.” This is how the Soviet Union operated.
If you can access WAPO, the video is here. My question is who really flew the mission. https://www.washingtonpost.com/world/2022/04/01/russia-belgorod-fire-helicopter-ukraine/
I’ll tell you what. If that’s true, then Russia’s control of the skies is even worse than we all thought.
