Unfortunately if they want to maintain any support internationally they'll need to stop at their border. Question becomes disputed areas that are Ukranian but Russia says are separate countries.

Not that it would happen but can you imagine if after all this, Ukraine takes those disputed lands AND reclaims Crimea?

But yeah, stop at the border & then maybe precise hits on anything firing at them from within Russia, as those would be military targets may be the way to go here.

Heard on the radio one of the points of Zelensky's speech to NATO was basically a "you thought we weren't good enough, well look at us now", and the cnn reporter discussing interviews with NATO people who were pleasantly shocked at how capable & effective the Ukranians were. That they thought Kyiv would fall in a few days.

Also...talk of Ukraine declaring formal neutrality w/no NATO, HOWEVER, entering into a treaty with individual countries (US, UK, France, Turkey, etc...examples) where if Russia attacked them they'd be bound to provide actual protection. Not the whole "oh don't worry, we'll protect you so it's ok to give back those nukes" garbage they were fed before.

To Russia I'm sure it'll escalate because the wind not going in their direction is an escalation, but at least something like that would still be justified in defending Ukraine & folks would still be supportive.

In my opinion, that’s no question at all. We need to bear in mind the painful lessons of late 1950. If Ukraine invaded Russia (I understand we’re getting way ahead of ourselves here) while using war materials we have provided, then Putin has a plausible argument for national survival. This could galvanize the people and the armed forces (which have been at best lukewarm and at worst hostile to this war) and could even bring in allies who have sat the fence to this point. Assuming Ukraine could push the Russians back to their border, if I were President I would set conditions for our continued assistance that Ukraine does not push any farther than 10km from the Russian/Belorussian border and negotiate the last 10km.

I think it depends on how they attacked them. Air and/or artillery, no problem as far as I’m concerned. Ground troops are a problem.

Certainly not advocating that Ukraine enter Russian territory and would hope the Ukrainian leadership would have the good judgement to stop at driving the Russians out and leaving it at that.

This is a hugely popular Ukrainian boxer, for anyone that may not be aware. And boxing is big.

This would be like a LeBron or Brady video.

    Cnn...from Bidens speech

"Biden says China understands economic consequences of aiding Russia in war

    From CNN's Kevin Liptak

US President Joe Biden said he believes China understands the potentially dire economic consequences that would ensue should the country provide assistance to Russia in its war in Ukraine.

Biden said he had a “very straightforward conversation” with Chinese President Xi Jinping last week on the topic.
    ....
He said he pointed out the consequences of Russia’s behavior, and pointed out that China had sought to develop stronger economic ties with the West. He said he told Xi “he'd be putting himself at significant jeopardy in those aims, if, in fact, he were to move forward.”

“I think that China understands that its economic future is much more closely tied to the west than it is to Russia. And so I am hopeful that he does not get engaged,” Biden said."

    Cnn live, on chemical weapons

"Biden: "We would respond" if Putin used chemical weapons

US President Joe Biden said that the US would respond if Russian President Vladimir Putin used weapons of mass destruction, but that the response would depend on the situation.

"So you've warned about the real threat of chemical weapons being used. Have you gathered specific intelligence that suggests that President Putin is deploying these weapons, moving them into position or considering their use? And would the US or NATO respond with military action if he did use chemical weapons?" the Associated Press asked the US President during his news conference.

Biden responded that he could not provide information on intelligence, but added on the issue of chemical weapons, "We would respond if he uses it. The nature of the response would depend on the nature of use."
Earlier today, NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg said the alliance will reinforce its chemical, biological and nuclear defense systems on fears Russia is planning to use such weapons against the people of Ukraine."
