Fascist POS. After the talks today I think not only is it time to not support Ukraine, it's time to switch sides. Join with Russia, destroy Ukraine and split the country in half for the mineral rights. Ukraine no longer deserves to exist.

Sure, Trump will keep us out of war - no let's go invade Greenland, Panama, Ukraine.

See how that works out for you like when Trump turned over Afghanistan to the Taliban.

What Trump is showing is how low our country has already fallen, trying to extort a country at war.

We need to march on Washington and throw his administration our on their ear before we really break something we can't fix.

I think you mean when Biden completely botched the Afghanistan withdrawal and caused blood to be on his hands. Wanted to make sure we completely corrected which President was in power during that time and which President was ultimately responsible for that disaster, which was Joe Biden.

You do realize that we fight wars to protect our national interests?

What is our national interest in Ukraine?

It could destabilize one of our main trading partners and military allies if we left a hostile nation put its border up to those military allies.

It also sets a really bad example for other nations who are considering annexing territory of neighbors like China and Iran.

Trump doesn't care about allies or trading partners, he cares about the appearance of winning and that will be his undoing.

Trump made the deal, freed the Taliban prisoners after negotiating in secret, and set the table for what happened under Biden with a troop reduction before Biden took over. In other words, nothing more than a poison pill.

The fact is, Trump tried to cozy up to Russia, basically sucking Putin's dick to get a peace deal and they told him to pound sand.

Why would they want peace when he is destroying our NATO alliance and destroying our relationship with Ukraine to win a peace just so he can say he made a peace deal.

Peace deals are hard things to negotiate, and the tactics Trump tries to use are ones you learn in grade school. He tries to bully and/or praise. That doesn't address security or encourage peace.

What we saw today is that RUSSIA is not ready to negotiate and make peace so Trump is trying to pin it on Zelensky.

Meaning Trump lied about how easy it was to make peace to win an election and now he has to shift the blame to an ally, which is what he's been doing the past week calling Zelensky a dictator.

Now Russia and China are targeting the government employees Trump fired as intelligence assets.

Great work you idiot, you managed to make the country less safe and you are destroying democracy and making it seem weak because people thought you could somehow deliver lower prices and the rich wanted permanent tax cuts and you are just wrecking the place.

    J-O-K-E is on U.S.

Obviously the war idea is far fetched. But it shows how much I truly hate Zelensky. I look at Zelensky as the enemy here that must be defeated, not Putin. Zelensky, when this war is all said and done, should either be dead or facing war crimes.

From the U.S. perspective, in the very least this should end all aid from the U.S. to Ukraine. Let Ukraine fight its own war against Russia for once. Of course they haven't wanted to because this has never truly been a Russia-Ukraine war. It's been a Russia-U.S. proxy war and we all know it. If it was truly a Russia-Ukraine war, Ukraine would have been conquered in months, a year at best. If the U.S. pulls out now, Ukraine is conquered by the end of 2025. But it's time for Ukraine to fight their own war. They aren't a NATO member (and should never be a NATO member) so NATO does not even apply here. As the U.S., we should be done.

If I was Trump, the only way that Ukraine sees another penny from the U.S. is with the resignation of Zelensky.

Curious your thoughts on Trump & JD’s performative ambush on Zelenskyy for the media. Is it understandable how some could be upset with trumps words and concerned for the future of Ukraine?

Mods we have quite a few threads on Ukraine - roll this troll post into one of them? Select Bill’s post which is pro trump.

It would be helpful to get the latest info in fewer posts.

Biden was in the office then. Biden easily had the power to change the deal or even delay the withdrawal if he thought it was in the best interest of the U.S. Presidents can easily change what previous Presidents did, outside of bills passed through Congress.

No one forced Biden to go through with the deal Trump set up. It was Biden's duty to make the final determination on if the withdrawal was ready and appropriate. Biden failed in every way, and that is Biden's failure alone.

Trump intentionally hamstrung Biden by reducing our Afghanistan presence to just 2,500 soldiers the week before the inauguration. There was no way a President was going to have the support of adding troops back into Afghanistan after 20 years; that ship had sailed.
