He can’t, unless the propaganda machine takes full footing.

I do not think that Russia can expect to have claimed those Oblasts have been independent for over two years and now demand that they be part of Ukrainian elections. It's just not realistic. It requires way, way too much diplomatic back tracking on the "justification" for the Russian invasion.

Also reminds of what one commentator said regarding the negotiations between the US and Russia in Saudi Arabia in which Ukraine is absent, "If you're not at the table, you're on the table". It's almost like Trump is following the same playbook that he followed when he negotiated the US withdrawal from Afghanistan. The US and the Taliban negotiated the withdrawal while the then government of Afghanistan was absent. We pressured the Afghani government to release 5,000 Taliban prisoners some of which were designated as terrorists and number of whom returned to the fight against the government of Afghanistan. Trump is apparently willing to sell the legitimate government of Ukraine down the river the same way he sold out the government of Afghanistan.

Those are very broad and general things to claim. How would they work in Ukraine when they have been at war with Russia for three years and the Ukrainians, the US, and NATO are all very familiar with Russia's abilities with those things at this point?

Interesting point. Not frequently discussed, but Lincoln was VERY close to losing to McClellan (the inept and incompetent General that Lincoln previously fired) in 1864. McClellan ran on a leave now platform, and the race was very close leading to the vote. Before the vote,Lincoln finally win some huge military battles, and the electorate swung his way.

Had the election taken place a few months before, we might have two countries claiming the right to name the Gulf of Steve Martin..

Ukraine had not been fighting an existential war with Russia for two years at that point. The country is in an extremely different place now than it was then.

From your mouth to G-d”s ears. However, that argument essentially means Russia’s ability to meddle in foreign elections has been somehow neutered, when they continue to do so across the globe.

My response would be that once a country enters into an armed conflict with Russia, Russia's ability to do the things you mention become much, much more restricted since the resources and freedom of movement needed are no longer afforded to them.

If the hell-spawn deal you prognosticate comes to pass, then I will gladly join speculation about what comes next. Until then, we will see.

    Trump latest post:

Think of it, a modestly successful comedian, Volodymyr Zelenskyy, talked the United States of America into spending $350 Billion Dollars, to go into a War that couldn’t be won, that never had to start, but a War that he, without the U.S. and “TRUMP,” will never be able to settle. The United States has spent $200 Billion Dollars more than Europe, and Europe’s money is guaranteed, while the United States will get nothing back. Why didn’t Sleepy Joe Biden demand Equalization, in that this War is far more important to Europe than it is to us — We have a big, beautiful Ocean as separation. On top of this, Zelenskyy admits that half of the money we sent him is “MISSING.” He refuses to have Elections, is very low in Ukrainian Polls, and the only thing he was good at was playing Biden “like a fiddle.” A Dictator without Elections, Zelenskyy better move fast or he is not going to have a Country left. In the meantime, we are successfully negotiating an end to the War with Russia, something all admit only “TRUMP,” and the Trump Administration, can do. Biden never tried, Europe has failed to bring Peace, and Zelenskyy probably wants to keep the “gravy train” going. I love Ukraine, but Zelenskyy has done a terrible job, his Country is shattered, and MILLIONS have unnecessarily died – And so it continues…..

The best way to describe that rationale is through a two word expletive synonymous with the excrement of male bovines. Ukraine was never offered the opportunity to become a member of NATO and up until the Russian invasion of Ukraine on February 22, 2022, military aid from the US and other NATO countries was minimal. The reason for Putin's invasion of Ukraine was his desire to reconstitute the Soviet Union/Russian Empire under which Ukraine had no independent status.

And as soon as another one is in place, they will invite the Russian military in for "security" and then the torture centers will be set up.

Trump is a Russian asset. Period.

So there is a deal now that leaves Ukraine high and dry, or are you just citing more words? I already stipulated the words, if you will recall. And spoiler alert: I think there will be even more words in the future. Perhaps words that are even more reprehensible than those spoken to date. Please advise once Ukraine has signed a deal of national suicide under pressure from Trump. I promise to break out the ashes and sack cloth at that point.

Now that it's become official, that Putin is the good guy and Ukraine is the bad guy that started this war, expect all the MAGAs to become full blown Putin supporters. Many already were but now that Trump has made it clear, they all will be.

I love Ukraine, so I am going to hand it over to Russia so they can torture and kill you. You should have just surrendered because money > freedom.

All that are missing are the posters, PSA's, and video boards telling us all that " Russia is our friend and all will be well".
