In some ways controlling may be harder. If Ukrainians control it worst case for Russians they just indiscriminately bomb. If Russians control it then presumably Russia would not do that and Russians are sitting ducks for the insurgency. We easily took Iraq but had a hell of a time occupying it.
Tally of UNSC vote to condemn Russia. Notable countries (with fairly large populations) which abstained and thus are not even willing to pay lip service against the Russians: China, India, Pakistan, Vietnam, South Africa, Iran, Iraq, and Bangladesh.
Massie is a hardcore libertarian and doesn't want to sign off on anything that he feels gets us involved in any foreign entanglements. He's incredibly consistent in his voting record
Videos of the Russians basically making it Martial Law, but going through houses, stores, banks, etc & looting.
I dont have twitter so sorry but just saw that: Russian businessman Alexander Konanykhin has put a $1,000,000 price on Putin's head.
Also apparently Ukraine has agreed to return Russian prisoners to Russia. But only releasing them to THEIR MOTHERS, and they had to come to Ukraine to personally come get them. Oh my gosh....that's awesome!
They are definitely winning the PR battle. I just hope that Putin's ego doesn't get in the way of sense.
So apparently there's a thing now where people are mailing sunflower seeds/having sunflowers delivered to Russian embassies.
Judging by their conduct in WW2 I feel sorry for any Ukranian women left. The Russians raped and stabbed My wife's German Oma. Edit: I meant to quote the post about the Ukrainian city falling into Ruasian hands.
best guess is $$$$ and that Russia and China have put a lot of focus in Africa for natural resources.
