Because there's a difference? I mean....we're sending money to help ukr defend itself...and zman n his posse gettn phat yo! Off the same ching.. What is this difference you're pretending exists?
Navigation rights seem much more plausible. Though, that, too, would have been unthinkable a few years ago. Russia knows that the CCP teaches its children from a young age that the area in question, which the PRC calls Outer Manchuria, was stolen from them by Russia during the "Century of Humiliation." A Russia not desperate for Chinese support would never consider letting the CCP's camel nose into its tent.
Chinese kids are all about Russia and are girding for war with the West. Call it brainwashing if you like, but it is foolish to imagine that Russia-China relations are tenuous …
I imagine two American sailors asking themselves one day—perhaps as their aircraft carrier is sinking beneath their feet somewhere near the Taiwan Strait: Are we the Soviets? Niall Ferguson: We’re All Soviets Now
Russian stuff blowing up: House-to-house fighting reported in Vovchansk Interesting takeaway - Russians look to be planning another big offensive - this time near Svatove. DeepState reports that Russian forces have built up significant military strength to attack Borova. From Raihorodka to Novovodyane, approximately 10,000 personnel and 450 pieces of heavy equipment, including 200 artillery systems, have been amassed. The 3rd Brigade is currently defending against these forces. Last year, Russia also tried to attack in this area but at some point they halted operations without achieving success.
That’s who I would want as a buddy. Strong move, Russia. Russia and North Korea sign partnership deal as Kim pledges ‘full support’ for Putin’s Ukraine war
Blinken alarmed that Russia is forging alliances, all over the world, and intends to put a “thop” to it.
Notice how reports of Russian advances are almost always couched in terms of Russian losses, even though Ukraine has likely lost five to ten times as many troops.
I read the average age of a conscript now is like 43. That's pretty wild. Some of ya'll are fit enough for the Ukrainian military.
I won’t have to for two reasons. First, because I have a better chance of winning this election, and I’m not running. Second, because — hyperbole aside — our foreign policy would not actually change that much. That will initially confuse some of his supporters on here, but then they will suddenly oppose Russia as if they did all along.
Trump to Putin and Rocket Man: OK guys! Thanks for helping get me elected. Here is the deal: To Putin - You get all of NATO Europe, and of course all of the British Empire. Should you choose to accept, we will also agree to providing you all the New England states. That gets rid of the rotten libbies that give me a headache. To Rocket - You get S Korea, Japan, The Phillipines and like Mr. Putin you can have California, Oregon, and Washington State. On my end, we get to open Trump Casinos anywhere in the newly occupied territories and of course Russia, N Korea (Hey we can take over that big hotel Rocket built and never used)
Well, he also said Mexico would pay for the Wall. Maybe we should take things he says with a fistful of salt. All Presidents are boxed in by constructive measures whether they like to admit it or not. This is all speculative fiction because Trump won’t win, but just for fun he will be completely unsuccessful trying to effect any quick end to the war, and Russia will be the problem. Once Russia crosses Trump and ends his vision of being Teddy Roosevelt with a Nobel Peace Prize, he will be inclined to put more pain on Russia, not Ukraine. I get the need for scare tactics to dissuade people from voting for Trump, but this one is not that plausible. There is already plenty to run against Trump with his boorish, unstatesmanlike, unprofessional, and unethical character. I would stick with that.
