Nice diversion, but once again, meaningless. No one is saying that Russia invaded Ukraine for land, except the few deluded people who believe that Russia needs a buffer zone between itself and a peaceful, defensive organization called NATO. Russia plans on seizing the minerals, natural gas, and farmland of Ukraine. All three are very valuable. They will also have more area on the Black Sea for their sinking navy as well as vacation homes for their wealthier people.

No one breaks into a bank because it has a lot of square footage.

You mean the peaceful organization that has expanded 16 countries and 1,000 km to the East since 1990 and has involved itself in intervention after intervention (including Ukraine) since the end of the Cold War ?

Thx for these updates. I do scroll thru this thread looking for them. Also I look for analysis & opinions, good & bad. I now quickly scroll past a few posters/putin supporters. Their arguments seem to be shooting from the hip/off the cuff. provided to be contrarian and message-board combative.

I wouldn't call them arguments. The Putin pumpers find crappy/suspect "sources" that no one has ever heard of and then make nonsensical conclusions from them.
    The posts are embarrassingly stupid.

The Putin's Pet Poster of the Month wins a free counterfeit Adidas tracksuit. Competition will be fierce. Standing between a gopnik and Adidas wear is like trying to take a bone away from a starving wolf.

Ukraine launches massive attack on Russian port, oil refinery, power plant (msn.com)

The Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) and the Main Intelligence Directorate (GUR) utilized over a hundred drones overnight to attack Russian targets in Sevastopol, Tuapse, and Novorossiysk. These targets include a seaport, an oil refinery, an oil terminal, and a power substation.

According to sources within the special services, some Russian military facilities were targeted. The comprehensive operation utilizing surface and aerial drones aimed at neutralizing ships and other vessels of the Russian Black Sea Fleet based in Sevastopol and Novorossiysk.

As a result of the deployment of enemy air defense systems, other objects were also damaged. Russian sources report that over a hundred drones attacked their military infrastructure. Sources within Ukrainian special services assert that all drones used were of Ukrainian origin. Specifically, the SBU and GUR conducted a joint operation in Sevastopol Bay, resulting in fires throughout the night.

Additionally, reconnaissance units struck the seaport of Novorossiysk, where explosions occurred near the oil terminal and at the railway station. Furthermore, the SBU targeted the Tuapse oil refinery with drones, which the Russians had begun to restore. However, after the new explosions, repairs will have to start again, sources note. The Sevastopol power substation was also attacked, leading to power disruptions.

That's the one. Peaceful as can be. You might add that virtually all of the 16 countries BEGGED to be let into NATO. NATO did not put a gun to their heads. You communists seem to be unable to draw a distinction between putting a gun to someone's head and NOT putting a gun to someone's head. Seems like a mental defect of some sort. You might talk to a neurologist, see if they can write you a prescription.

An interesting article on China's relationship with Russia. It says that neither one wants the war to end soon. I could see that being the case for China, if Ukraine distracts the west enough that they could molest Taiwan with minimal resistance. Russia's economy is starting to bend under the weight of sanctions and military defeats. China certainly has the upper hand in the relationship: they persuaded Russia to send raw materials to China and buy Chinese finished goods. Russia is even buying its cars from China (instead of domestic producers). For those that don't know--that's bad for an economy, especially when the other country can dictate price.

The first statement in the quote is an unusual one--that Russia cannot afford to win or lose the war.

Neither Russia nor China wants the Ukraine war to end, but for different reasons

More on the idea that Russia cannot afford to win the war with Ukraine.

Russia's economy is so driven by the war in Ukraine that it cannot afford to either win or lose, economist says

Ukraine launches its biggest drone attack yet on Russia, plunging two cities (Novorossiysk and Sevastopol) into darkness, even though Russia claimed to have shot down over 100 drones. Oil facilities were also attacked.

War time economies cannot run forever. There is a time limit on what Russia is doing. Now that could be ten years idk but they can’t do it forever. What seems likely at this point tho is the only have to last long enough for a coward to win the us presidency. And that could happen as early as this year.
