who is killing all these Putin allies?
Russia's suspicious death count ticks higher as pro-Putin politician falls from a third-story window (msn.com)

Vladimir Egorov, a politician in Putin's United Russia party, was found dead outside his Tobolsk home on Wednesday after falling from a third-story window, Russian media outlets reported. According to a CNN report citing Russia's Kommersant newspaper, Egorov was just 46 at the time of his death.

Russia's state-run media service TASS reported the politician was found dead in Toblosk, the city where he lived. Baza, an unofficial Telegram channel with links to national security services, clarified that the politician was found dead in the courtyard outside his home, per CNN's report.

An autopsy is underway to confirm details of Egorov's death, which couldn't be confirmed by investigators at the time, Kommersant reported. Investigators found no "external signs of criminal death" on his body, the outlet said.

Egorov's death adds to a string of mysterious high-profile deaths in Russia, which include public figures and prominent businessmen falling out of windows, death by suicide, or otherwise dying of unclear or bizarre circumstances.

I think it is more likely that Putin was pretending to be dead, to see if anyone made a move to grab power. I think the Prigo "revolt" shook him to his core, and he reverted to his intelligence days of creating a situation to determine who might be his competition for power. He knows the war is going badly, and the economy is not doing too well. I suspect that he would like to kill someone and blame that person for Russia's problems. Having someone executed for treason might also improve Putin's standing as a leader.

I understand that Putin has at least one "double" that looks enough like him that it would fool most people, but I believe that would be difficult with people who have had conversations with him and then talked with his double. It is very hard to duplicate vocal rhythms, word selections, intonations, etc. over any period of time. Putin has had several meetings with people outside of Russia since the incident.

Russia is having some problems selling their oil to India. The two countries cannot seem to agree on a currency for the transaction. Five oil tankers have left India without offloading and headed toward the Malacca Strait after sitting at an Indian dock. It is believed that China will be getting the oil, presumably at a huge discount.

Another blow to the weak and fragile Russian economy.

More detail on the shipment of Russian natural gas to Europe (I think some pipelines are still active to some of the eastern European countries). Gas shipments in 2023 were down 56% from the year before. Germany stopped using natural gas from Germany around the end of 2022, and now produces over half of its energy from renewables. (A friend of mine in Germany just put up solar panels, and told me that electricity goes for $0.61/kW-h, which is about double the highest prices in the U.S.)

Another innovation by the great Russian military minds: "emergency descent of aviation munitions". In other words, a Russian missile fell on a Russian town, damaging six houses. Low Russian weapons quality continues to put Russians at risk.

Russia mistakenly fires missile at own city. Calls it ‘munition descent’

Russia's unstoppable Kinzhal missile was only stopped ten out of ten times it was fired at Ukraine today.

Ukraine's military claims the Kinzhal missile Putin bragged is unbeatable just suffered a major defeat

Ukraine gives an on-line class in how to use HIMARS to destroy Russia's latest radar system. For extra credit on the final exam, students must use a drone to destroy an S-400 air defense system while blindfolded.

Special Operations Forces show how HIMARS hits Russian newest radar station

Turkey is blocking Britain from sending minehunting ships into the Black Sea to make transportation safer. Somebody is trying to get kicked out of NATO . . .

Turkey has a rule that warships not be allowed to pass through the straits. If a minehunter has no offensive capabilities, is it really a warship?

Turkey blocks Royal Navy minehunters going to Ukraine

No, this war is not about oil. It's about invading your neighbor for no (valid) reason. Ukraine is not threatening to take Russia's oil. Russia is not invading to take Ukraine's oil.

Here is an interesting story that supports your idea. Russian propagandists are putting out deep-fake videos of speeches made up for Putin. They got caught because one of the videos had glitches, and the neck appeared to be spilling out over his tie. It seems unlikely that Putin would tolerate or encourage propagandists to make up speeches for him. Of course, knowing Putin and the strange way he thinks, he might put these out on purpose, for some internal management of the kleptocracy.

It's about the currency with which petroleum is traded.

Last I checked, Ukraine had nothing to do with the currency used in Russo-Indian petroleum trades. Please provide a credible link that could support your assertion.

No, they’re invading to take Ukraine’s mineral wealth, food supply, and manpower to feed Russia’s war machine. Among other objectives.

Putin went from relative isolationism, frail health, weekly reports about health incidents and imminent death to foreign travel, many public appearances, and a relatively healthy appearance. Maybe they found a miracle cure but it doesn't pass the straight face test to me. The whole power structure will change when he dies so those around him may be protecting their own 6 by keeping Putin alive in the public eye. Foreign and internal intel services may be concerned about instability of the country post Putin. Apologies, lack of removing military leaders after failures, and now AI speeches are all way out of character for him.
