He might actually be the one putting out the Kremlin’s numbers in the first place …

Russia killed 21 million of its own, on its own turf. They proved excellent at dying. They ran into the woods to avoid Napoleon. Russian winter killed Napoleon's invading force, not Russia Army. You act like Russia threw 21 million soldiers at Hitler to win. They beat half of Hitler's army, on Russian turf. Defending. Not on the offensive.

They lost to Japan, when they went on the offensive. They were only able to establish the USSR because eastern Europe was battle weary, devastated, and very weakened by Hitler.

...then promptly ran out of gas and fizzled against mighty Afghanistan.

...and b4 you come at me with "so did the US"--USA still here. USSR nothing but a Putin wet dream. As real as the 3rd Reich today. And we were trying to change their culture, not subjugate them. If we wanted dominate them, we could. We were trying to preserve their society and work with it.

Your self-touted superior mind should put to rest any speculation about numbers.

All the more humiliating then, that Russia is in the process of defeating the U.S., NATO and some 40+ nations in this proxy war nearly by itself.

Do you understand the meaning of “proxy war” and fighting with other country’s troops because you don’t want to risk losing your own ?

Oh, and if anyone needs a distraction it’s Washington. They’ve been looking for an off-ramp and Israel may fill the bill!

Do YOU understand the point of a proxy war?

Hint: it has a little something to do with resources.

Hint 2: Putin tipped his hand today. Begging US to get into a war so he can do the proxy thing... and desperately trying to distract from the humiliation of his antiquated rust bucket war machine being stuck in the mud for almost 2 years...

In the US’ case, what Biden, Blinken and Austin allowed early, to realize longstanding plans to regime change Putin and eviscerate Russia because we can’t tolerate competition for hegemony.

That might be what they declared. Imo, they're motivated by the *bodies* buried in Ukraine.

No one's actually scared of Russia.

The question is, why do you hate Russians so much ? I mean, other than the fact that the Man on TV told you to ?

I don't hate Russians at all. I actually studied Russian history in college, read war n peace, tried dostoyevsky, and get along just fine with the Russians and Ukrainian parents of kids in chess w mine.

I just don't fear Russia, nor revere Russians like you do.

(And I hate Stalin, like Hitler and Mao Tse Tong without hating Russian, German or Chinese ppl, anymore than I hate Cubans--of which I am one--for Castro).

Between Russia and the U.S., one country has conducted 200 military interventions since WWII, over half of those in the post-Cold War era.

    The other country is Russia.

Speaking for myself, I love America and Americans. I wouldn’t choose to live in any other country in the world. What I hate are people who purport to be serving the interests of Americans when then are doing anything but. What I hate are politicians lying to Americans. What I hate are American taxpayer dollars being used to fund proxy wars while children starve in America. I love America. I don’t love what’s being done to America.

Where are children starving in America? We have the most overweight country in the world, except for a few tiny Pacific Islands. Most schools in poverty areas serve free breakfast and sometimes lunch. We throw away almost as much food as we eat. There is THAT MUCH food waste in the U.S.

What is being done to America?

    What I don't like are ill-informed voters.

Well then, educate yourself (we wouldn't want you hating yourself now...):

Child Hunger in America | Feeding America

U.S. National Debt Clock : Real Time

$475 Billion per year to service that beast:

Interest Costs on the National Debt Are on Track to Reach a Record High

Up over 100 Billion in 2 years..

When do you suppose we should do something about that?

    After Ukraine?

One major difference between the U.S. and the Soviets in Afghanistan: we generally fought within the Geneva Convention rules, while Russia bombed civilians and children as the mood struck them, and tortured people as they saw fit. (Much like they are doing in Ukraine.) The U.S. basically fought to a draw and retreated from the country. We could have easily stayed longer if we wanted to. Russia went home with their tails between their legs, destroyed. (Much like they appear to be on their way to doing in Ukraine.)
