The U.S. has military hardware that Ukraine could only dream of. Why would the U.S. refuse to use that hardware and fight a "Ukraine-like war". You might as well say that the U.S. would badly lose a Zulu-like war or a Cherokee-like war, as our spear throwing and hatchet throwing abilities are greatly diminished in recent centuries.

Vasily Popov, a commander of an elite Russian fighting unit, was killed during fighting recently. Popov, suspected of being a colonel, was commander of the 247th Guards Air Assault Regiment. Russia's elite units continue to suffer high numbers of killed troops.

The Brits say that Crimea is now virtually defenseless. Ukraine used a large number of drones to get the last S-400 system on Crimea to reveal itself and exhaust its ammunition, and then nailed it with modified cruise missiles. An S-300 system was also destroyed. I hope Russia has good insurance. This war has been a disaster for them.

Strike on Russian air defences leaves Crimea force ‘almost defenceless’

There is no question that the Patriots have fared better for Ukraine than the S-400's and S-300's have for Russia. They have shot down more targets and defended themselves better. Russia is running so low on SAM systems that they are importing whatever they can from eastern Russia. Crimea was recently described as defenseless, because the last S-300/S-400 systems on the peninsula are believed to be destroyed. And Russia is behaving as though Crimea is defenseless, by removing their Black Sea fleet to the west coast of Russia.

More on why we have to fight our wars with other countries’ soldiers …

That not only relates to the army but also to the navy and air-force. The U.S. ship-building capacity is 200 times lower than China's. U.S. Navy ships are badly conceived boondoggles. The short legged F-35 jets have terrible availability rates.

Despite all that U.S. politicians continue to instigate for wars against high level competitors.

The results of wars against Russia or China with the military forces the U.S. currently has would be embarrassing. It would be much better to not ever try it.

Looks like the Russian navy has suffered another humiliating defeat on the Black Sea. A missile cruiser and Russia's Black Sea Fleet flagship have been damaged and were seen under tow in Sevastopol's harbor. Presumably, Russia will put them in the same dry dock as the last ships to make it easier for Ukraine to strike them with British missiles. This is probably a difficult time for Russian propagandists, worrying about when the next ship will be destroyed. It's only a matter of time before Russia is reduced to using a rowboat as their flagship in the Black Sea.

Russia continues to be desperate to find men to send to the front without another round of conscription. This time, it was troops on the border with Finland. Observers estimate that 80% of the Russian troops on Finland's border have disappeared, apparently to fight in Ukraine.

This move proves that Putin was a liar about his concern about NATO, according to Norway's defense chief. Finland was admitted to NATO in April, and Putin is confident enough that NATO has no intention of invading Russia, so he re-located 80% of his border troops. The cat's out of the bag, propaganda-shovelers.

Just an ugly reminder that all surface ships are vulnerable. Also answers question as to why there aren’t any US Navy ships anywhere close to theatre …

Why would U.S. ships need to be "in the theatre"? To be theatrical? Because the U.S. is not in the fight in Ukraine. We are merely providing weapons and advice. The U.S. also does not have any U.S. Army or Marine divisions in Ukraine, nor any Air Force groups. No fighting = no need to be in theatre. Try to think before you post. Your propaganda will be slightly more credible.

As it is, your post comes across more as a cheap diversionary tactic to distract readers from bad news about Russia. Of course, you do seem to convey a lot of the desperation that Putin is obviously dealing with these days.

So, in your professional opinion, if Ukraine surrenders to Russia, they would be an independent and neutral country? Or if Ukraine had not sought entry to NATO, they would have remained an independent and neutral country? Sell it somewhere else. This is Russia's second invasion of Ukraine, after invading other countries like Georgia. Invasions from a neighbor are not a path to independence or neutrality. You just sound absurd when you claim that they are.

    this:

"The reason why they have attacked Ukraine were democracy, freedom, rule of law and the fact that Ukraine more and more was wanting and willing and showing they were making their own decisions about their own future," Bauer continued. "And that is a danger if democracy settles more and more and becomes in the heart of the Ukrainian thinking, as we see, that is a danger to the Putin regime."

Russia not desperate to find men. That would be Ukraine. Russia has 420k in theatre now and the Kremlin says there will be no further mobilizations for now. On the other hand, draft dodging is rampant in Ukraine. So much the case that Ukraine is busily extradited men who’ve fled to other countries.
