Hearing she is actually a 19-year old woman who he had a fling with who is now extorting him. Gonna wait for all the facts to come out.

My guess is wander is at least 24 years old. A 19 year old with a 14 year old is wrong.

 

He is denying, again with immaturity

 

Everyone is referencing "the allegations," but it's not clear to me what the allegations are specifically or who is making them. I did see some purported pics of him with a girl or young lady.

I just hope its all false for a plethora of reasons, but this franchise needs a generational star. Longo was the beloved son, but this kid makes Longo look like a little leaguer talent wise.

With Randy, Luke, Josh, Wander, Yandy, Brandon (sometimes) all in the fold for the foreseeable future, this could be a special run.

 

Wasnt there a player on the Lightning that had a similar allegation and was briefly suspended until the investigation came up with nothing concrete? Unless there is hard proof, I would imagine the outcome will be similar.

 

Ian Cole. I was disappointed in the signing as he already had baggage. Thankfully his sorry play did him end and he wasnt resigned for the upcoming year.

 

Okay, so the first one seems to be a screen shot of a message possibly written by him. It's chopped off and I haven't seen the rest of the message but if true, it would be an admission that he was talking to someone underage at least. I guess we'll see if that's verified, when it may have been, the respective ages, etc.

 

Wander is 22.

 

He is a Dominican 22. Unless things have changed it is not uncommon for dominican baseball players to have multiple birth certificates. I remember maybe 25 years ago Andruw Jones who made it to the Braves when he was just 17 got pulled over for drunk driving and he produced a dominican driver’s license that said he was 21.

 

In this case, the Rays basically have know Wander his entire life. They signed him when he was very young, and his uncle, Willy Aybar, played for the Rays.

 

Totally agree. Hoping it is just a maturity issue. Foreign land. Young guy. Huge payday.
