Wander Franco

Just read this this morning. I hope it’s not true but I don’t have an opinion. I just wonder how old is he Dominican players have always had multiple birth certificates.

I have been blaming Wander for the unraveling without knowing anything about this. Recall that he was suspended in late June for being a "bad teammate." That is when the team started playing poorly.

Looking back with what we know now, either someone tried to talk to him about this, or he just refused to take advice from veterans generally. Somehow it was related, although I do not want to suggest that his teammates or the organization knew anything specifically.

But man, the series in the DR next year... Just wow. And yesterday's coincidental giveaway

But that would be consistent with just finding out, not knowing for months. If they knew before, they certainly would have cancelled a Wander Franco snapback hat promotion for kids 14 and under (her reported age).

The fact that he was removed from the dugout in the 5th inning means they were waiting for something specific.

And I get why KC was saying he was off regardless, but he has been on fire. No way you sit him on THAT promotion on a Sunday getaway day after 2 huge walk off wins and momentum building.

From a baseball perspective, if it is what is alleged, the franchise just took a massive hit.

If true, his career is over and would be the greatest waste of talent in my lifetime. This kid is a prodigy and one of the best young talents to hit baseball in a long time. I hope for his sake and the franchise’s, it’s not true.

If what’s true? We hardly have any information. Wander is 22 years old. He’s been married for a few years. If when he was 19 years old, he had a relationship with a 17-year-old girl, should I tgat redult in the end of his career? I’ll wait until we know more about the facts before writing off Wander Franco.
