Not much optimism after the disaster of last match. Looks like Dahlstohm is back at 1 after not playing for who knows whatever reason.....it certainly cost UF the match. Sysoeva still MIA for weeks, also killing the lineup. Midway thru doubles and UF down a break on 2, other matches on serve
Really impressive outing in doubles, UF takes the point Pretty nice start in singles too Dahlstrom up a break 4-2 Briggs up a break 4-2 Dudney on fire of late 6-1 Gailis up 5-2 De Oliviera up a break 5-3 Spee the lone downer, 2-5 Who are these girls?
Sara rolling, takes her first set 6-1 and 1-0 in second Briggs had a set point but was broken, 5-5 Dudney 6-1 2-1 Gailis hangs on for 6-4 set De Oliviera 6-3 1-0 Spee getting hammered 2-6 0-1....need Sysoeva back
Dahlstrom up 3-2 Briggs forced a TB, then loses it 7-0 ouch Dudney up 5-2, one game away Gailis down 2-3....her MO has been to fade about now. Needs to batle here De Oliviera uo 3-2...this is probably the key match Spee down 1-3
UM not going away Sara at 5-3 Briggs 3-1 but down a set. Nice rebound after first set collapse Dudney match turned fast, lost 3 straight for 5-5...she held for 6-5 Gailis down 4-5 De Oliviera 5-4 Spee scratches to 5-5 Tough second sets across the board
Dahlstrom closes it out for UF's second point Briggs up 3-1 Dudney into a TB Gailis 5-5 DeLiviera 5-5 Spee 5-5
Dudney gets her TB and match Spee loses 2 quick games and her match 3-1 UF Briggs 5-2 trying to force a 3rd (her opponent is a very good player) Gailis in a TB, up 4-0 Oliviera in a TB, up 4-3 Race to the finish line....or a bunch of 3rd sets. UM has to run the table
De Oliviera wins the race....Gailis was up 6-0 but couln't get the 7th before Emily crossed the line VERY strong performance today. And makes the UK debacle in the last match even more baffling and infuriating. ZERO reason to lose that match
I will go glass half full and say the KY match woke them up. Might be a good thing long term. Biggest win in recent memory.
Kinda thought that had happened after the Pepperdine blowout and the subsequent TAMU loss The thing I simply don't know was if Dahlstrom sat because of a valid reason or if he thought we win without her and wanted Shelton to get another match.
