(TEN) W Tennis SEC Tourney

UF opens with Ole Miss.....should get the W today. Got a nice break when Ole Miss upset 5 seed Auburn yesterday. As the 12 seed, Ole Miss is playing their 3rd match in 3 days.

Midway thru doubles.....4-2, 4-3, 3-3 UF

 

6-2 on 1 , 6-3 on 2, were down 3-5 on , Shelton and Williams struggling there

Usual singles lineup, Sysoeva remains MIA for 2 months

 

Mid first sets, UF up a break on 2 and 5, others all on serve

Carly 6-2 1-3
Dudney 6-3 3-0
Gailis 4-6 1-2
Emily 6-2 5-2
Spee 6-5
Should be ok today...2 matches in hand and Sara should be ok as well

 

Emily first to the line, 2 and 2. Dudney next 3 and 1, Dahlstrom clinches 4 and 2

Briggs lost her second set
Gailis won her second set
Spee won a first set TB and was up 2-0 in 2nd

Overall a very good performance, only chink was #3 doubles
UF will almost certainly face #1 TAMU....UF has lost to them twice this season but played them very tough in both matches. Definite underdog, but a legit shot

 

Yeah....I'm thinking we get 15 or 16, we beat Auburn a few days ago AND we advance 2 rounds further in SEC tourney. I'm thinking the win today got us a host. Beating TAMU would lock it obviously

Miami is a couple of spots ahead of us and has a loss since the last poll....pull against them today in the ACC tourney. Okla, Texas, Iowa St, and Ok St are all in that 11-18 window with UF, UT, AU, and Miami.

 

UF loses a tough doubles point.....tiebreaks on courts 1 and 2, UF won easily on court 3. Will be very tough now

 

Sara getting crushed by #2 player in country...but uf wins the other 5 first sets. Nice start

 

Sara loses, Dudney wins....uf gets blown out in all other 2nd sets
Have to win 3 of 4 remaining 3rd sets, unlikely

 

Spee beaten badly in third
Gailis wins a tight match
Briggs goes down 4-6 to give TAMU the win

Good effort, just couldn't convert a few clutch points. Hoping this is enough to host, IMO it should be but will be very close
