Violent thugs and hooligans brutally attack police officers in D.C.

Shameful indeed. But more shameful than the months of rioting, looting, arson and violence this past summer?

It's curious how posters here were totally down with the hundreds of thousands of rioters that trashed cities, burned businesses, attacked government buildings and police, ruined countless people's lives, and took other lives.

The rioters for BLM should have been tear gassed and/or shot, just like these thugs should be.

But the left on this board were quite ok with what they were doing.

 

You can’t skip one huge difference. BLM was not trying to overthrow our government or deny democracy. It was about addressing police violence and inequality, and a small subgroup used the protest as an excuse for violence. This has the violence AND is treason. Not the same level of evil or idiocy.

 

3 hours and now FBI is being deployed. National Guard will be there after tea time. Are you kidding me?

 

I hope so too. It just seems inevitable.

 

That's a lot of pardons about to be handed down.

Given their lack of irony, it wouldn't shock me if they tried to hit them with the flag pole holding a blue line flag.

 

Again, no violence is ok. But while small groups took advanyof protests to loot, BLM never espoused treason. They were protesting police violence and inequality, not democracy.

 

One stemmed from systemic racism and the killing of people. The looting was wrong obviously.

The other is because Trump didn't want to lose reign of his power and yelled fraud and riled his minions up to overthrow an election he lost.

Love that the people who made this happen - Trump, Gym Jordan, Ted Cruz, etc. - are now tweeting for their brownshirts to stop.

You built this monster.

You were too stupid to know that it would grow beyond your control.

You will finally suffer the reprisals of your crimes. Your party will never be viable again after this travesty. This tears the last binding to the nose-holding conservatives who have stupidly continued to support you just because their parents or grandparents did, because they have tied their social identity to a political team, because they think Democrats are icky, whatever it is that made them for years disregard their morals, their intellect and their human decency.
