I can't believe how unpopular riots have become. The next POTUS needs to do the heavy lifting of ensuring that would-be rioters understand that their grievances are simply too yicky for the majority, and stick to the non-riotous tactics they have previously used to get themselves nowhere.

That's not where I think we are right now. I wasn't one of the the ones rioting at the Capitol yesterday. But a lot of right wingers do think we are there right now. Expect more violence and domestic terrorism.

So I'm not free then? Someone else decides that for me? I thought I lived in a free country, and I don't even get to decide if I am indeed free?

All rioters should be punished by law. Especially those that commit violence or destroy property. But if all riots are just the unheard trying to get people's ears, I think we can ask if the underlying reason for the riot has any true merit.

With this summer's riots, again, they were a part of a long line of civil unrest demonstrations dating back generations. The majority of African Americans in this country believe there to still be institutional racism, and I, for one, am not about to discount their collective experiences. Especially when there is evidence to back it up. Just consider the response to peaceful protesters on the day President Trump took his Bible photo op to the response of yesterday.

With yesterday's rioters, again, they refuse to listen to reality. They may have a million people with a collective experience, but there is no evidence that shows they speak the truth. None. Zero. Nada. Again, they are delusional, and they aren't unheard, just absurd.

Worse off, yesterday's rioters were egged on by the President of the United States himself, and his enablers in the Senate and Congress, including my representative, Andy Biggs of Arizona. I wrote Congressmen Biggs a few weeks ago warning that the President's actions will lead to violence, and he should quit enabling, and start accepting the reality that Trump lost. Yesterday, while the riots were ongoing I wrote to him and simply asked him, "Are you f***ing happy yet?"

Again, I'm not a fan of riots. There is a better way. Always. But when it's African Americans rioting over the same basic inequalities that have been going on for hundreds of years, and riots for 60+ years, then I think we should listen to their experience and evidence. When it's a bunch of people, egged on by the President, who believe the election was stolen with no real evidence, then we should be appalled.

This is what I'm seeing posted. The guy with the horns is a Qanon "shaman" and was also at the BLM protests. I've seen both pictures from people wanting to label him an antifa king or something. The only problem is that person was carrying a "Q sent me" sign
The BLM protests were peaceful during the day, but turned to rioting at night. Not surprising given that in the dark people feel more free to do what they want. I was suspicious that right wing groups were doing the looting and burning with some bad BLM protesters joining in. Most went home when it got dark and or late, but the really bad people stayed. So with this fool being placed at both the capitol (carrying a sign that say Q sent him), it stands to reason who the real bad guys are here. These fools couldn't wait until dark, they showed their arses in broad daylight - broke down doors and windows, scaled the wall, rummaged through senator's desks, and took away government property. I've not been one here to give the OK to looters this summer just because they were angry. IMHO they had A LOT more to be angry about, but still didn't enter a government building to loot. By the way, Trumpie was quick to call the National Guard in then, but they are entering a government building with guns and he does nothing? That's not addressed to you, most of this isn't. I'm just spiraling into a rant. I'M PISSED OFF!!!

Yeah it's too bad, everyone doesn't have respect for the laws of our country there would be a lot less bloodshed.

Went from "blue lives matter" and "back the blue" to "assault the blue." A damn shame.

Your opinion on whether you are free does not dictate whether you are free.

The fact that you live in the United States with free and fair elections, with a Bill of Rights, with the freedom to say whatever you damn well please without being jailed. That's what makes you free.

And if you disagree, then you are free to leave, because we live in a free country. You know what a lot of "unfree" countries do? Prohibit you from saying what you want and prohibit you from leaving.

Yes, apparently the state of my freedom is something that's told to me by other people who aren't me. Thankfully, this mentality didn't prevail among the people who committed acts of insurrection against their own constitutional government with a bill of rights to found this nation because they felt unfree in it. These same people also had the audacity to call themselves a free country while continuing to enslave people. At what point did we become a "free" country, because that certainly wasn't true for everyone throughout our history. Were slave rebellions justified in our free country? Or were they still bound by the laws of our free country by virtue of living in it?

I have NEVER said it's ok to riot. I understand the anger, but the act is wrong and against the law. The media reports the news, so I'm not sure what role exactly they had in these people marching down to the Capitol and rioting. Announcing Biden as the President Elect maybe? Trump told them to, not the media

    Criminal charges have started.

Peaceful protest, my foot. Armed insurrection at the urging of the President.
