He cannot be forced to recuse himself but I wonder at what point the Chief Justice will have a conversation with him for the good of the court.

The "nobody cares" screech has to be one of the lamest defenses in years. Ironic to see it on a 175 page thread.

Technically it wasn't a successful insurrection. Fortunately, it was a failed insurrection. Just a guess but I think this guy cares.
Georgia man affiliated with Oath Keepers becomes 2nd rioter convicted of seditious conspiracy
    As well as these folks.
Leader of Oath Keepers and 10 Other Individuals Indicted in Federal Court for Seditious Conspiracy and Other Offenses Related to U.S. Capitol Breach
And while this guy probably agrees with you now I think he felt differently on January 6, 2021. That's Josh Hawley by the way, a high priest in the Cult of the Donald.

It wasn't an insurrection. It was a seditious conspiracy!

That is quite the position you have there.

"Not only did video capture the Oath Keepers moving in a military stack formation through the crowd before entering the Capitol, but some of the defendants were caught uttering deeply incriminating statements. One, Jessica Watkins, bragged that “we stormed the Capitol, pushed our way into the Senate and the House.” Another, Kelly Meggs, admitted to “looking for Pelosi” in the Capitol. Caldwell is caught saying, “Let’s take the damn Capitol. Let’s storm the place and hang the traitors.

"U.S. Capitol Police Officer Harry Dunn, jurors saw video footage of several Oath Keepers who had unlawfully entered the Capitol standing within arm’s reach of Dunn as he guarded the entrance to a stairwell that led to Speaker Nancy Pelosi’s office. As he faced off with the crowd, he yelled at them, “We have dozens of officers down, we’re taking them out on stretchers, you all are f---ing us up!” As they approached, Dunn stood firm and told them, “I’m not letting you come this way.” And they didn’t. Harry Dunn, as but one man, held that line. His testimony reinforces the fact that we have heroic public servants among us."

The leader of the Oath Keepers may have just doomed himself (msn.com)

not only is he trying to quash the subpoena, but DT wants the taxpayers to pay his legal bills...go big or go home I guess

NEW DEMAND: Trump Wants Americans To Pay His ‘Expenses’ Including Legal Fees in Suit Blocking Jan. 6 Committee Subpoena (msn.com)

Former President Donald J. Trump filed suit on Friday against the House committee investigating the Jan. 6 attack on the Capitol, seeking to block the panel’s subpoena that required him to testify and hand over documents related to the effort to overturn the 2020 election.

The 41-page lawsuit, filed in federal court in Florida, comes just days before Mr. Trump was scheduled to appear before the panel for a deposition on Monday. The panel had been in discussions with Mr. Trump’s lawyers and had given them additional time to begin producing documents.

The suit seeks to declare the subpoena invalid for a variety of reasons, including that it is overly broad and unnecessary. Mr. Trump’s lawyers say the subpoena lacks a legislative purpose and infringes upon executive privilege and his First Amendment rights.
    .........................
Toward the end of the suit is the fun detail that Trump and his lawyers want taxpayers to foot the bill for any subpoena-related costs. The suit demands “An award in favor of President Trump for his reasonable expenses, including attorney’s fees and costs incurred as a result of the Subpoena.”

The failure of the highly touted number of people expected to attend the equally touted 'red wedding' is incontrovertible proof just how wrong you were. Something must have been miscommunicated in the invitation as many of those expected attendees were no shows who evidently saw nothing worth celebrating. Did it include an RSVP?

Your celebration fizzled from opposition and insufficient interest in supporting or celebrating the agenda published on the party's dance card. The notable absence of the anticipated attendees underscoring yes, contrary to your vociferous denial, there are many people who do care very much indeed.

Chief Justice has no authority over Thomas and Thomas and the crazies hold him in contempt. Thomas is the de facto chief justice, the extent there is a position in terms of leader of the Court. That doesn’t mean Roberts is some softy. If Republicans have a majority in the House, as it looks, it will be because of Roberts’ racist and lawless destruction of the Voting Rights Act

Oath Keepers boss guilty of seditious conspiracy in 1/6 case

Oath Keepers founder Stewart Rhodes was convicted Tuesday of seditious conspiracy for a violent plot to overturn Democrat Joe Biden’s presidential win, handing the Justice Department a major victory in its massive prosecution of the Jan. 6, 2021, insurrection.

A Washington, D.C., jury found Rhodes guilty of sedition after three days of deliberations in the the nearly two-month-long trial that showcased the far-right extremist group’s efforts to keep Republican Donald Trump in the White House at all costs.
