Apparently Melania knew that riots were turning violent a full hour before Trump encouraged the attack on the capital. She refused to approve a tweet condemning lawlessness and violence.

Melania Trump Was Alerted to January 6th Violence Earlier Than Thought According to Stephanie Grisham Tell-All (msn.com)

At 1:25 p.m. on Jan. 6, soon after rioters had broken through barricades outside of the Capitol, MELANIA TRUMP received a text message from her then-chief of staff, STEPHANIE GRISHAM.

“Do you want to tweet that peaceful protests are the right of every American, but there is no place for lawlessness and violence?” Grisham asked the first lady.

A minute later, Melania replied with a one-word answer: “No.” At that moment, she was at the White House preparing for a photo shoot of a rug she had selected, according to exclusive excerpts of Grisham’s forthcoming book, “I’ll Take Your Questions Now: What I Saw in The Trump White House,” obtained by POLITICO.

Why is this relevant? Well, it undercuts the rather specious claims made by the White House that Trump wasn’t aware that Vice President Mike Pence faced danger by the Trump supporters who invaded the capitol to stop the certification of the Electoral College results that confirmed President Joe Biden would succeed Trump.

Guy is clearly a mentally ill fruitcake, but what is he being charged with?

The truck with no plates is obviously illegal, no idea how the hell he drove across the country with no plate (and I’m guessing no license), but what else? The knife... not sure how that could be illegal even in D.C as long as it is stowed in his truck. The swastikas aren’t “illegal”. So while it’s nice they took this guy off the streets, most likely he won’t be off the streets for long.

Wonder what happens in a case like this. Dude obviously isn’t going to be allowed to drive that truck back to Cali, he probably can’t afford a D.C hotel, and I’m guessing he probably isn’t going to be able to pay for court costs or fines either. They going to impound the truck and book him a 1 way ticket back to California?

Caught with weapons that are illegal in the District outside the DNC in an area that was previously targeted with pipe bombs and having expressed violent ideaology? Yeah, you don’t have to be an imaginative prosecutor here.

Oh, I didn’t catch the bayonet part.

Guess there will be some type of weapons charge that could keep him in jail for a little while. But it still probably won’t be long before he’s out, unless he doesn’t make bail.

So my question stands. This guy is let out, but has no housing and no vehicle. So what happens? They just let this crazy guy wander homeless until his court date? The court impounds the truck and pays for a 1 way ticket back to California? How do they handle that?

Oh, I think he’s looking at MORE than weapon charges. And I think he’s looking at a pretty high bail since he presents a continued community danger and is a flight risk from the jurisdiction.

wow..between what Milley and now the CIA director thought, it is scary

Then-CIA director Gina Haspel said the US was 'on the way to a right-wing coup' after Trump lost the election: book (msn.com)

The former CIA director expressed concern that the US was headed toward a right-wing coup after then President Donald Trump lost the 2020 election, according to a new book obtained by The Washington Post.

The book, "Peril," by The Post's Bob Woodward and Robert Costa, is set to be released next week and documents the chaotic final months of Trump's presidency and the beginning of Joe Biden's term.

The Post reported that the top officials in the US military and intelligence apparatus were afraid of what Trump might do in his quest to overturn the election results and the effect that his lies about the election could have on his agitated base.

Two of those officials were Gen. Mark Milley, the chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, and Gina Haspel, the CIA director. In one conversation, the book said, Haspel told Milley, "We are on the way to a right-wing coup." It's unclear when during the transition period the conversation took place, but it came as Trump and his loyalists were pushing the lie that the election had been "rigged" and stolen from him.

Remember that Trump wanted to fire Haspel in the last days of the administration and install a loyalist in that job.

    Today from trump…..

“Our hearts and minds are with the people being persecuted so unfairly relating to the January 6thprotest concerning the Rigged Presidential Election,”

Testimony from a few cops, defending our US capital against this mob. It’s sad what they went thru.

“I went to the doctor later, and they diagnosed me with chemical burns. A lot of us got chemical burns, actually. I keep hearing more and more people who got them. I know some people wouldn’t report their injuries. When I inhaled it, I knew I inhaled it, because I felt it burning in my chest. bad. My face literally burned for two months.”

“we fight to the south side of the Capitol, where we were evacuating members. People were pissing on walls, Up until that day, I’d never been called a [racial slur] to my face. And I can tell you, that day I was called a [racial slur] to my face more times than I can count. Thinking about it, I just can’t believe that human beings acted in such a way, unprovoked. We go to work every day to protect Congress, and these people won’t even have our back. We, the officers, did our job. No member of Congress was injured on that day. For them to not have our back, it’s extremely disheartening. I think people might be getting desensitized to the footage. I want people to know that as bad as it looks on film, it was probably 10 times worse than that.”
