That was exactly it, the trifecta of fail. Representing himself is like saying "Suck it, justice system, I do what I want!"

McCarthy threatens comapnies who comply with Congressional Subpoenas..unreal..you know he is going to lie on the stand when asked about his conversation. Do you think there are text records, Trump doesn't text or email. No written record. What is McCarthy so worried about?

Kevin McCarthy Threatens Revenge on Firms Cooperating With January 6 Probe (msn.com)

That practice lives on past Trump. On Tuesday, House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy threatened telecommunications firms not to cooperate with subpoenas from the House committee investigating the January 6 insurrection. McCarthy, perhaps fearing that records will reveal more coordination between Congress and the White House or pro-Trump groups in advance of or during the riot, warned firms that if they cooperate, “a Republican majority will not forget.”

Marjorie Taylor Greene, appearing on Fox News, took McCarthy’s threat a step farther, proposing to shut down any firms that cooperate with the investigation. Tucker Carlson gave that idea his enthusiastic endorsement:

    Law and order!!!

Seriously though. Isn’t this yet another obstruction of justice? Very Trumpish. Literally threatening abuse of govt power and retaliation for companies enforcing a lawful subpoena. When is this nonsense going to stop?

Guess what, it’s not up to ATT or Verizon. If there a challenge to the veracity of the records request, it’s up to a court to decide that. That is where you challenge it, in court. Threatening the companies with political retaliation is just more organized crime behaviour.

Defenders of the Capitol Rioters Will Soon Descend on Washington

On September 18, a pro-Trump group is set to host a Washington, D.C., rally in support of the January 6 rioters who are now being prosecuted for storming the Capitol. The “Justice for J6” organizers have claimed that their demonstration will be peaceful but some in Washington are now fearing the worst. “I think they should take it very seriously,” former FBI deputy director Andrew McCabe said during a Monday interview on CNN. “In fact, they should take it more seriously than they took the same sort of intelligence that they likely saw on January 5.” McCabe, who is now a CNN contributor, did note that Donald Trump is no longer “fanning the flames” from the White House as he did on January 6. “They seem to be taking the intelligence very seriously,” he added, “which raises a question as to whether or not they did on January 6.”

The “Justice for J6” demonstration is being organized by Look Ahead America, which is a nonprofit led by former Trump campaign operative Matt Braynard. In late January, Look Ahead America penned a letter to the Department of Justice and the FBI requesting that the entities “drop all charges against non-violent protestors from the January 6th rally at the U.S. Capitol.” Braynard, who authored the letter, defended the hundreds of people charged with federal crimes during the riot by accusing Joe Biden’s law enforcement officials of “[persecuting] the peaceful Trump supporters who entered the Capitol with selective prosecutions based on their political beliefs” and went on to suggest “non-violent” protesters “reasonably believed they had permission” to enter the Capitol complex.

As for the security concerns posed by the “Justice for J6” event, Capitol Police chief Tom Manger noted in a statement that he and his team are “planning accordingly” and “confident the work we are doing now will make sure our officers have what they need to keep everyone safe.” According to WJLA, the tall metal fencing that surrounded the perimeter of the Capitol complex for several months after January 6 may go back up prior to the “Justice for J6” rally.

Democratic representative Eric Swalwell recently characterized the upcoming rally as Republicans going “to the Capitol to celebrate cop killers” during an interview on CNN. (One Capitol Police officer reportedly died from strokes suffered after the attack: Four additional officers who responded to the attack later died by suicide.) “These unmasked individuals celebrating cop killers, creating more and more [COVID-19] mutations that are threatening our kids will be in Washington, D.C.,” he added. “We just have to make sure that if they are ready to get violent that we’re ready again in a better way than on January 6 to defend the Capitol.”

“..... He then threw the object to the line of officers.

Authorities said Wilson also assisted other rioters in attempting to pull away a shield from another officer. They said he pushed that officer to the ground and then pushed against a third officer, along with other rioters.“

Under the agreement, prosecutors said he could be sentenced to between 41 and 51 months in prison.”

Okay,,this is interesting. If she was communicating and coordinating with the Trump team and the oath keepers she might have some splainin' to do

    seditious conspiracy...sounds salacious

FBI seizes Texas lawyer's phone in 'conspiracy' investigation (msn.com)

The FBI has seized the phone of a Texas attorney who volunteered for Lawyers for Trump and served as general counsel for the radical-right Oath Keepers organization as part of 'seditious conspiracy' investigation.

Kellye SoRelle, a close associate of Oath Keepers founder Stewart Rhodes, was at the US Capitol during the January 6 riot and addressed the crowd in a speech repeating the false claims that Joe Biden had 'stolen' the election from Donald Trump.

This week, her iPhone was seized by the feds under an August 30 search warrant which cited an investigation into seditious conspiracy, civil disorder, false statements, destruction of government property, obstruction of Congress, and unlawful entry on restricted buildings or grounds.'

The seditious conspiracy charge refers to two or more people conspiring to overthrow or destroy the US government by force. It can also refer to hindering or delaying 'the execution of any law' and seizing possession of a federal building by force.

Luckily, the bulk of insurrectionists are blessed with massive levels of stupidity. Spent a couple of grand on the rifle and another couple of grand on the ammo but doesn't think to use a vehicle that works. Also was nice enough to keep a text message trail of his crimes.
These are the criminals that people are going to hold a rally for next weekend? Traitors supporting traitors.

Man pleads guilty to threatening to shoot Pelosi

“Thinking about heading over to Pelosi C---’s speech and putting a bullet in her noggin on Live TV,” it read, according to authorities, followed by a purple devil emoji.

Meredith planned to drive from Colorado to Washington, D.C. on Jan. 6 to attend rallies in support of then-President Trump and his claims that the 2020 election was stolen, but arrived in the nation’s capital too late because of car troubles, according to court documents.

That’s reasonable. It’s a need to see justice meted for crimes against something we all hold dear.
