Bannon was one of the organizers of “Stop the Steal” and he said “this is not going to be a protest”.

Trump said “it’s going to be wild”.

    The GOP mullahs all knew.

It is a sad state of our country. When a group could take over the capital. I do not think that was the case. Maybe they played it out, for political reasons.

I think he’s implying that Capitol Police extended the insurrection for someone’s political benefit.

    Which is bat guano crazy.

At this point, we really need to seriously consider arresting McCarthy, Stefaniak, Taylor-Greene and all of the rest of House Republicans as co-conspirators in the insurrection. They are getting more and more like supporters and parties of dictators and authoritarian rulers, making up that history and creating false enemies to whip up the ignorant masses in the attempts to seize total control of this country and destroy what little bit left of Democracy their is.

Already Distorting Jan. 6, G.O.P. Now Concocts Entire Counternarrative

In other words, they're still plotting a coup.
To be a republican or conservative who supports Rs is to support not a political party but an anti-democracy insurgency.

Exactly. Meadows was talking as if they are the current cabinet and with Trump as president.
I can't help but think this wasn't simply shorthand but deliberate.

Because it is deliberate. It’s a feature of authoritarianism.

One of the experts on authoritarianism:

This is the piece she is referring to (it was December, not November, but that’s hardly significant).

All of it based on a lie that they all know is a lie but keep pretending it isn't. It's sickening.
