I see on the interweb today that VB3 has narrowed down his choice to four schools: Ohio State, U Miami, Halfass U, and the good guys. Anyone have any thoughts on our need and chances for him to follow in his dad’s footsteps? Official visits in the works. (Didn’t see another thread on VB3)
With the exception of THE OSU, his list is identical to that of every top prospect in the State of FL back in the 80's and 90's. I wish it would go back to that and have every NC run through the State of FL.
As a WR, he would be stupid not to look at OSU. They have put several high draft picks into the league at the position in recent years. 4 -1st rd wr's in the top 20 picks overall 4th,10th,11th and 20th.
I would expect it to be a real insult to his dad if VBIII turns down an offer at UF to go to either of the other 2 Florida teams
Yea, II is a smart dude. He’s going to want his kids going into the best possible situation which may or may not be UF in their opinion. I’m sure he’d love for him to end up here, but not as sure he’d be insulted by them going somewhere else. Ian Scott was a lifelong FSU fan and a Clemson legacy, but chose UF. I know his parents couldn’t be more proud of him and what he’s accomplished.
I saw an interview with him and he lit up when talking about FSU... and all his buddies that are going there. He also looked quite animated when he talked about OSU. But this interview was from about 3 weeks ago. I hope he makes it into The O&B uniform when his recruitment is all over with.
My best friend is an fsu fan and if his kid didn’t blow out his arm, there’s was a good chance he was going to pitch for the gators a couple years ago. I would’ve had a field day.
Sometimes your favorite school just isn’t the best situation for you. As a die hard gator, I could have never envisioned myself going to the mutts or the noles, but none of them wanted my talents anyway, so I did my own thing, and am setup way better at a much younger age than most of my friends that went to college.
Maybe them making 4 out of 10 5 star recruits 1st rounders isn't that impressive to him. Making a 3 star a 1st rounder may be more impressive.
I bet. When pops is paying the bills, you’re kind of at his mercy. Why I bugged out at 17 and never looked back.
He’s graduating with ann engineering degree shortly and already has a job waiting so I guess he will be alright.
