The courts don't make policy, they uphold interpretation of laws as related to policy. That is their job, it isn't doing the WH job at all. If the felon doesn't cross the line to illegal, they don't intervene. So simple skidmark could do it... but he won't.

The President isn't responsible for disbursing federal funds?

He must have some authority over that, which is what makes it an interesting legal question.

If he did he wouldn’t need a line item veto. He has no power over the budget other than a veto. None. That’s the legislature.

Then how can Trump actually control the funds?

He must have some power over them.

    My point exactly.

Is that what this is? We'll find out in court.

Personally, I think a better long-term rule is Congress controls the purse. Period. No funny business withholding funds this way.

I think people are cheering for anything that will stop this madness and get this petulant child and his eugenics wannabe kingmaker out of authority.

what do you think should happen if he refuses to obey court orders?

It's obviously just a new iteration of the Roy Cohn playbook - the Trump mentor who won fame orchestrating the Joe McCarthy trials.

Felony Don has just got Musk involved in it now; publicly lie, never backtrack from a lie, just spew more bullshit, flood the zone with lies, all while committing crimes and accusing others, fight everything in court.

The main difference is obviously the scope of it now; we've literally enabled a career criminal to wield the awesome power of the federal government to enrich himself and commit crimes.

It's all been obvious from the start.

Congress controls the funds, Trump controls Congress. And that's how he gets it done.
