Take away J6 and any other of the "trying to overthrow the election" allegations - would you vote for Trump over Harris? If yes, then maybe examine further the facts against what the MSM has presented to you and you will have a clear conscience to vote for Trump. If no, then you are perpetuating that narrative merely to smear Trump and avoid substantive debate on the issues - immigration, economy, security, etc.

In the privacy of his own thoughts he likely finds MAGA and Trump repulsive and dangerous—exactly as he thought when he said it and wrote it. Outside of such privacy, he is putting in his act because it is the means to get him where he wants to go. That’s a dangerous man.

It is so rare that we have a glimpse into a call for such obviously motivated reasoning (examine it in a way that will result in a clear conscience). Almost as if the clear conscience was the goal not a potential outcome.

I can’t “take away” the very fact that Trump pushed his blatant lie beginning November 2020, which culminated in January 6. I can’t pretend that roughy six week period didn’t exist. It showed me he couldn’t be trusted, and certainly caused me to analyze his words and actions deeper than I would have otherwise done. And with such introspection, I came to realize the depths of his dishonest and con-man actions. Never-Trump, at least for me, was not a knee-jerk reaction. Trump has earned every ounce of my belief that he is utterly unqualified to serve the public in any way in any office.

There's hundreds of reasons I'd never vote for Trump, even as a lifelong Republican voter up until 2016. Fake electors, J6, The Big Lie, pushing the DOJ to challenge the results, wanting Pence to refuse to certify, baseless lawsuits, etc. All with zero evidence that ever came up. He's a traitorous POS, so your hypothetical is a waste of my time, no offense.

Fair enough critique - I should have ended second sentence "you will have a clear conscience to vote for Trump or Harris." I maintain the concluding sentence is apt.

I think that's most politicians to be honest. I doubt very few believe wholly in what they say. They just have to tow the party line. Yes, towing the MAGA line is extreme, but I get it

Fair enough for you and your reasons, but that was not the statement made by the other poster to which I replied - and subsequently amended that reply upon further input from another poster.

And all things being equal, in a normal election between normal candidates I vote Libertarian in most elections.

Shhh.... don't tell the Trump voters how we slipped a Dem in as their VP. They haven't caught on yet.

Last thing we want is them to figure it out and not vote him in.

And here’s the “free speech” clip by Jon Stewart that I think is well worth the watch:

Confirmed Walz made up the story about his son witnessing a shooting at a community center:

The governor has mentioned the shooting in the past, including at a campaign event last month in Grand Rapids, Mich.

“My own son was in a location where someone was shot in the head,” Mr. Walz told the crowd in Grand Rapids. “Too many of us have this.”

So we went from "my own son was in a location where..." to "my son witnessed a shooting". The guy can't help himself.

So if poster is voting against Trump because of J6/election interference, he is avoiding “facts” (which begs the question what facts is he avoiding). If he is voting against Trump for other things like the issues, then he is avoiding the issues??

Trump didn't pick Vance. Thiel and Musk did. They know he will execute their gameplan to return us to the 1890s without a 2nd thought whereas Trump has to be compensated to do it. That's why I believe Trump won't be allowed to live long after the inauguration if he wins.

Right, because being in an area being locked down, everyone screaming, etc., isn't traumatizing enough. You need to be with in actual eye sight of the shooting.

I don’t get why questioning an election is third rail stuff. Hillary wasn’t shy about it after 2016.
