I know a certain poster that will agree with this. They said the cost was about $1 million to flip the tv cameras in the O'Dome, now they have the cash.
It is the most maddening thing. It is free advertising that says Florida is a great place to play and coach. But no, let's look at empty seats that aren't really empty.
I really want the cameras flipped, but let's concentrate on putting our money towards the best coach possible, then worry about the cameras
I will play devils advocate and disagree. While me “may” hire a great coach, it is no sure thing. Spending the money on flipping the cameras, once completed, is a done deal (sure thing) so that is my vote to use money I don’t have.
Actually, the best thing to spend the money on is concierge service for the folks who are buying those high-profile tickets. So that they can get their favorite beverage and food without leaving their seats. And if nature calls, they can get some of those stand-in sitters to fill in. You are most sincerely welcome.
Can they flip the camera and the benches too? I like being able to see the bench while watching the game.
Probably not. Seems like something that they would realize is an issue after the fact, and by that time they’d be more concerned about winning games. This needs to be addressed by the school admin and AD, from pressure applied by boosters, fans and alumni.
Okay, dumb question from a lurker who hasn't posted in years I'm embarrassed to say. Mike White's departure finally got me to login to swamp gas. But enough about me. Question is, if the cameras flip do we not see the benches? Reply as if I'm 5, thanks.
There’s still cameras on the floor. You wouldn’t really see the benches when the ball is moving up and down the court, but the cameras on the floor would still catch the benches as they move through the camera angles during play around the hoop. For a million bucks, I’d think they could just leave the existing cameras and landing, and put another setup on the opposite side. For a million bucks, I think I could figure that out for them.
Riddle me this, Batman… why not just put the student section on the camera side sections and spend zero?
