US Women knocked out

Rapinoe is clapping back hard on the haters on X (Twitter) today. Wish I knew how to post them here. It never works for me.

You just copy the link from there and paste the link here as you would for an article. When people post twitter links, I can see the full tweet on my iphone and ipad without having to click on them. When I'm on the laptop I use, however, they don't automatically display so I have to click on the link if I want to see them.

 

Here’s me yawning back.

 

My very simple take is that we've gotten by on bulldozing teams with relentless athleticism for a long time, and we cant do that anymore. And our most technical players were either injured or not able to go for a full 90, which didnt help. We probably need to get a little more tactically sophisticated to break down teams that are going to sit back and defend as a unit.

 

Not a big fan of Rapino and her in your face, my way or the highway attitude, about Women's soccer or her LGBTQ activism.

Her cause is fine, I just don't like her nasty presentation of it.

Regarding the fickle soccer gods, I will never forget a Japan / Brazil soccer match around 96. I was in Brazil watching with the natives.

Brazil LIVED on the Japanese side, could not score, despite countless attempts at goal.

Japan had a late game breakaway to score and win.

It's almost like watching UF inside an opponents 20 ten times coming up empty.
It was incredible.

The locals were not happy.

 

I'm not the one calling Rapinoe a dude, mocking our womens' physical appearance, complaining about "white libbies" and gender confusion and declaring the country of Sweden to be "effed up." And I'm the one off the deep end here?

Don't know about "our" idea of liberal. Youre just speaking for your tribe. . I suspect the difference is Sweden doesn't have all the folks hating on the team like the US team does. Maga hasn't infected their country. Rapinoe barely played, yet she is the focus of the hate, very telling.

All the political crap aside, Sweden is a very good team who has beaten the US before, but the program needs a reboot with a new coach.

 

Decent post. We need less woke as it’s just a distraction from actually playing sound ball.

 

I don’t base my opinion of women solely on their looks. I’m not that shallow. It also depends on a woman’s ability to make me sammie that is both fast and delicious.

This just shows that the betting public is often uneducated. Sweden is #3 in the world. Have owned the US in big tournaments recently and were picked by many experts to beat the US.

Yet the betting public had them at 7th. Likely because they recognized male soccer powers and bet on them.

The betting public build th big casinos on their losses, not by being right.
