We do have an aging problem. Here's median age for the US over time:

The median age is still going up, despite the fact that in 2020, there were disproportionately more elderly deaths than usual due to COVID.

Aging also helps explain the rise in part time jobs. More and more seniors are taking a job; some because they have to, but many because they want to. Especially with a rise in WFH jobs that seniors can take.

Keep this in mind regarding the source:
Zero Hedge (or ZeroHedge)[a] is a far-right[13] libertarian[18] financial blog and news aggregator.[14][15][19] Zero Hedge is bearish in its investment outlook and analysis, often deriving from its adherence to the Austrian School of economics and credit cycles.[20] It has been described as a financial "permabear".[21][22]

Zero Hedge is far smarter than anything mainstream, and they were quoting Wong, who works for Bloomberg, for much of the article.

Like when they predicted recessions in 2022 and 2023? You know, that recession, the likes of which this generation has never seen before, which hit late last summer or early last fall?

    • Because I bet on politics and sports for a living I know that anytime a Democrat or deep stater opens his mouth a lie is coming.
Ask yourself a simple question: If jobs are up 272,000 why is employment down 408,000?

I'd love to explain what's going on here but one of the mods and evidently some liberal posters think I use adaptive AI technology to formulate my replies. So I: trying to dumb down my posts to avoid being banned. So look at the question I posed and see if it raises questions as to the legitimacy of the ,jobs report

Alright guys I’m going to make this easy.

    Two charts.

Number of old people in the country is going way way up.

The percent of old people working hasn’t recovered since Covid.

New Bureau of Labor Statistics data shows that while 637,000 foreign-born workers joined the U.S. labor market in the last year, almost 300,000 native-born Americans fell out of the workforce.

Welcome to an aging population. This is why we desperately need immigration.

Yes, actually they are. The number of people who could only find part-time work decreased last month by 92K. Part of a 50K decline in those who were part-time for economic reasons. Both are still at historically low levels when considering it on a per-capita basis.
