LOL Yes I lost over there quite a bit. I’m NOT the one over here being a jackass. Seems some of y’all get a little touchy way too easily. It was a joke. Lighten up a bit.
Not touchy at all here. Just calling out the irony. Trashing "too hot" posters seems to be popular with a few here. Go figure. Nice attempt at spin tho.
Most of the too hot posters are good people… a few can’t help themselves. That’s why I made the “didn’t wipe their feet” comment. Keep that attitude and argumentative take over there.
I don’t think the Bucs got tired of Arians. I think his message was still working as much as possible. IMO Arians has historically been overall a players coach, but like you say he can still hold players accountable. Kind of like Pedersen. That’s what players want. They want it both ways. They want a coach to treat them like men and still hold them accountable while living it themselves. That was Meyer’s problem- the players didn’t think he was living it and he wasn’t. I don’t follow the Bucs that closely but it is hard to say how much is on Bowles. I think it seems the defense has been pretty good. The OL injuries have seemed killer. And Leftwich seems to have lost whatever limited groove he had.
Again - not defending Urbs here but he was only in Jax for one year and the Jags have sucked a lot longer than that
Face it, folks. If Urban Meyer offered his services to coach the Gators, how many of us would be swooning with gratitude? More than a few... Spurrier sucked as an NFL coach as well, as did Holtz and Saban. It's a different game...
I have tremendous respect for Meyer’s abilities as a college coach and would take him back to UF tomorrow. But he was unbelievably bad as a NFL coach. I would say Holtz was that bad, too. So was Bobby Petrino. I actually think Saban and Spurrier were league average coaches. They didn’t have talent that said they should win more than they did but they still had some accomplishments. Jason Taylor won DPOY for Saban’s defense and Stephen Davis had a very good season rushing for Spurrier’s offense.
Don’t read this: Urban Meyer says he has 'no interest' in coaching again “I would say the Florida Gators slash Florida State, I think they're really similar jobs because of the talent level.”
