I think that Colorado, with the best QB in college football AND the Heisman front runner (starring both ways) in addition to having gone “all in” with NIL money and paying the greatest coaching staff in college football history a fortune, SHOULD get to the playoff or it is a MASSIVE failure for the University of Colorado. Deion, nor his players care about what happens as long as they are in the mix per the OP? Hey, they get paid no matter what, right? That is the most Deion thing ever! Get out of here with that “great story” crap. Deion will move on next year and UC will have to pick up the pieces. Open your eyes man! Jeez! @okeechobee, are you a Gator, Clown, or Deion fan? We agree on alot of things on some forums but this is a big c’mon man.
If it was that easy, everybody would be doing it. Dude, he's in year #2, lol. If you could literally just swipe your credit card and instantly build an NCAA championship football team, don't you think everybody else would be doing it too? Colorado had 1 winning season in the previous 18 before Deion arrived. You're going to put a rebuild there on par with everybody else?
Probably because we didn't play well enough to beat Ole Miss and got lucky. That's what the stats show. I'll take the W, don't get me wrong, but you asked about the FPI and FPI uses analytics to show how well teams are playing.
I doubt it matters much to bama as they had much higher aspirations and anything less is a letdown. Our kids have something to prove but beating usf may not be super exciting for them or us. They are playing for 8-5 and some respectability though. I know they dont want to lose another game.
Everyone IS doing it! It is called free agency. If you have the money they will come. How do you think that the clowns went 13-1 last year? How do you think that Indiana was #5 before this weekend in year 1? Deion is a celebrity, kids want to be around him for that purpose. You said earlier that Deion is smart because he hired offenseive and defenseive coordinators. The real reason that he hired those coordinators is because he has NO experience calling plays! It would be like Michael Jordan going to a university. Of course he will have players lined up around the block to be around him! Deion is a side show, once he and his kids move on to the NFL, Colorado will be left to pick up the pieces.
Exactly, this is not a sustained rise. It's built on star-power and generous amounts of sizzle. You can only sizzle a steak for so long, then it's done. After that it's burnt and ready for the trash can!
You'll take the W? What ya talking' about, Deon got his butt handed to him by a bad Kansas team. You'll take L and like it! For the "we" didn't play well enough to beat Ole Miss. No, you played bad enough to get run over by Kansas- Kansas!- lol... UF played a one legged QB and made plays to win the game!
My point is that most of these bowl games do matter to the teams that get into these "other" bowl games.
It matters more to some than others. Some dont want to be there and opt out creating no desire by their teamstes who are left without the players needed to win. Those guys hung our boy Trask out to dry. I always admired him for not sitting.
If Bama gets a Birmingham bowl, then we might see some opt-outs, but that is not what I'm talking about. I am talking about the need just to have these other bowls. If they make a profit and teams agree to play in them... then why do people still hate enough to post their disdain for them? I don't get that, and I dismiss these blowhards whining about these other bowls. I know one thing, I don't care who the sponsor is for the bowl that the Gators will play in... I'm watching it... screw all the haters that think it's a waste-of-time-bowl.
Ill be watching and id rather ghey make a bowl than not. I just hope tgey plAy to win. Teams like Tulane im sure still love it.
What I like for UF with a bowl game is the extra practice. Half the bowl practices are kinda like pre-sping practice. I also want to see all the young guys play in the game.
